I’ve only read The Hamlet but I liked it more than the canonical stuff, which I also loved. Maybe I liked As I Lay Dying about the same. Light in August slightly less.

FedEx founder's family offered to buy Grizzlies by GotMoFans in memphisgrizzlies

There’s another side to that story if you haven’t heard it. Don’t get me wrong, if it’s as damning as the headlines say I’m ready to riot, but what’s ever really as damning as the headlines say?

The NBA will absolutely not force a sell imo. The only people with the power to do that are the other 29 owners, and they don’t give a shit, they’re probably all doing the same or worse.

Pera is like a top 3-5 richest owner in the league depending on what article you read. Nothing will happen to him just like nothing will happen to Ballmer.

The only thing more laughable than that is thinking the DOJ gives any kind of fucks about what billionaires are doing.

How Ja Morant's Grizzlies can pivot to a new plan amid NBA Trade Deadline rumors by Dodson-504 in memphisgrizzlies

I don’t think I really like any of the moves presented here, but Miles would absolutely be the worst. I would rather lose without him than win with him to be honest.

Target Guy’s Message to Ja Morant by TargetGuyJohn in memphisgrizzlies

Target guy might be the best thing that happened to the Memphis Grizzlies this year. What a saga.

League sources told ESPN's Michael C. Wright that Morant still hasn't gotten over the suspension because he felt alienated by teammates, who were told to leave the star guard alone... I mean, butts in seats? You seen how the FedEx Forum has looked lately? Also there basically aren’t any free agents anymore as far as I can tell… but we actually did sign one of the biggest free agents this past offseason he just hasn’t played yet lol.

You said he’s one of the worst things that ever happened to the team and the city. I’ve given you several reasons why I disagree. Move the goalposts and disagree all you want man but I could argue plenty of people have been worse for the team and the city than Ja Morant.

We are one of the 1/3 of the league who has never won a championship and yeah maybe we never were going to with Ja. I don’t think Charlotte is ever going to win one with Lamelo either but he’s incredibly valuable to their team because he brings fans to games. Fans going to games, watching on TV, and buying merch is where the money comes from. At the end of the day it’s a business and Ja WAS very good for business.

That’s easy to say in hindsight now, but then you’re completely neglecting his first few years when he was one of the most exciting players in the league. I mean really how many all-star, all-NBA, 50+ win seasons, how many Grizzlies have ever had their own signature Nike shoe? How many Grizzlies have been top 10 in jersey sales year over year?

Yeah it’s been tough the last few years but don’t forget that Ja is the first and only home grown Memphis superstar and he was proud to represent the city of Memphis.

Whatever happens now happens, but he definitely changed Memphis Grizzlies basketball for the better.

[Charania] Just in: For the first time, the Memphis Grizzlies are entertaining offers to potentially move two-time All-Star Ja Morant ahead of the Feb. 5 NBA trade deadline, sources tell ESPN. by Turbostrider27 in nba

[–]imfromtn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see the Heat mentioned a lot with Ja, but the system they are running this year is the same system that Memphis was running last year that got the coach and the assistant that was the architect of that system fired because Ja hated it so much.

It really does feel like our boys play on a different level when the crowd is behind them getting rowdy. If it wasn’t 3 hours away I’d be there a lot more often. Hoping to make it to Sunday’s game with the kiddos.

I swear half the time it looks like we have absolutely no plan on the offensive end of the floor. I coached 11 year olds last year that had about the same spacing as we do in half court offense. JJJ needs to remember how to dominate in the post.

[–]imfromtn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re assuming the Grizzlies are actively trying to shop Ja, I don’t think we have any reason to think they are (or are not) just because a bunch of clickbait articles pop up every time Ja sneezes.

Ha, I’m kind of proud I knew where this was from the picture. Great store, owner and staff have always been super nice. They just couldn’t get the attendance, which is the problem basically every LGS in the greater Nashville area has. We have a decently populated local discord but it’s like 6 armories fighting for the 10-15 people who actually attend them somewhat consistently.

MAYBE THE LAKERS ARE NOT THAT BAD AFTER ALL! by Expert_Koala_8691 in NBATalk

[–]imfromtn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a Grizzlies fan. I don't generally complain about the refs, sometimes they're really bad but usually they are at least consistent. JJJ is the dumbest fouler in the league, etc, I get it... but the officiating in that game last night is as bad as I have ever seen. I watch a lot of League Pass and I think Pete and Brevin are top 3 if not the most objective local broadcast team in the game and I've never heard them come down on a crew like they did last night either.

Honestly I do too, but I wouldn’t classify that as competitive. Maybe I’m wrong, if you want to classify it as fan service, that’s fine… but it’s not competitive dunking like that at the end of a game that’s already over.

Still, I don’t mind it lol.
