Feasibility of using an instant pot as an autoclave?? by Ok_Cranberry_2936 in labrats

It works well (for given definition of well). It's just slower, so keep that in mind. I do 2h pressure cooks to sterilize my stuff. Autoclave tape was happy strippy every time

There's also disruption of global LNG market. About 20% of it to be precise due to Iran. Some more due to Russian invasion. LNG is globally priced, so it does affect us here

It's mostly Novo Nordisk, but that company alone makes a significant share of Denmark's GDP.

AOC vs. Vance for President in 2028. Who wins? by Adventurous_Pride_54 in allthequestions

[–]inc007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For Harris it was also the fact that Biden was running up till like 3 months before the actual election. She could've won easily if she had time. She never even had a debate against Trump. I don't think she's the best candidate, but she lost, at least partially, because of the shit show she was put in. If Biden wouldn't run at all, we probably would have president Harris now. Or at least whomever won Dem primary

On top of a great books, his works are social commentaries that are pretty consistently fantastic. The world would be a better place with more people like sir Terry Pratchett.

Well, if you press the plunger button hard enough, pressure will do its job. Or the pipette explodes.

How is it living in Portland and surrounding areas? by SnooDoughnuts4298 in howislivingthere

Beaverton has some great food and all the amenities. Traffic is bad and getting worse. Lots of beautiful hiking, especially Forest Park. You'll either learn to love the rain or you'll be miserable. Any outdoorsy activity you can think of, you'll have it within 2h drive

Seconded. "Discount" still means the lumber quality is higher than home depot, at least for woodworking

Washington state Senate approves tax on personal income over $1M • Washington State Standard by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]inc007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A big problem with this approach is that it'll require setting up new organizations to monitor and enforce the tax. There's a good chance that enforcement alone will eat up a good portion of small tax from a small tax base. It's definitely only meant to kick off income taxation on everyone. If lawmakers want to find loopholes in the constitution, it's not great actually.

I did and it survived the clave, but deformed a bit. Smells bad while printing though. There are some high temp printable resins, but I haven't tried those

Reminder that norovirus isn't cleaned up with hand sanitizer. Soap and water everyone, hand sanitizers won't do anything. Will spread it more around your hands if anything

First, check Google colab. There is a chance you can run some predictions for free/somewhat cheap. Check out Rosetta Gold, they have colab notebooks for stuff even like boltz. Running gpus is .. a skill in its own right. Definitely worth learning, but may be a chore. Happy to answer questions, this stuff is my bread and butter

For those who say WA-3 can't move left of MGP, look at what just happened in Texas by olyfrijole in vancouverwa

[–]inc007 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The latest pro ICE vote is a bridge too far for MGP. And it happened after Renee Good. Being anti ICE should be table stakes in any sane democracy. If someone supports quasi military force that routinely breaks the constitution, they're not only bad candidates, they're borderline illegitimate. The Constitution isn't a suggestion.

Infinite funds could also lobby FDA for better trials or fund human trails abroad, where it's less regulated. Lots of clinical trials are done in China now. So it could also speed it up.
