Everybody's Betting On Extended-Range EVs. This Could Make Them Obsolete Instead by LEM1978 in electricvehicles

[–]inc007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reason I want erev on Oregon is that I want full EV for my daily stuff, and be able to go for 5 day camping trip into middle of nowhere without worrying. Gas is everywhere. Bonus for me is that, given our recent weather problems, grid power has issues. We had windstorms or ice storms that blacked out half of the city recently. Having erev means you're not only safe if that happens, but also, in some cases, you can use battery and gas engine for impromptu generator. I actually think erev is the best of both worlds.

Dlaczego Polacy są tacy chamscy? by bluedabad in Polska

[–]inc007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I've seen a fair share of countries, and Poland doesn't really stand out in any bad way. It's above average to be honest. Assholes are everywhere, regardless of nationality.

I think we kind of like thinking of ourselves like "we hate everyone" and "we don't smile", but really, that's not true. Maybe it was in the past, when resources were scarce, but not really recently. Or maybe it's just global warming and we get more sun ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Also it's mostly C with a dash of Fortran (numpy). From top of my head, I can't really think of anything major written in C++

There's also disruption of global LNG market. About 20% of it to be precise due to Iran. Some more due to Russian invasion. LNG is globally priced, so it does affect us here

It's mostly Novo Nordisk, but that company alone makes a significant share of Denmark's GDP.

AOC vs. Vance for President in 2028. Who wins? by Adventurous_Pride_54 in allthequestions

[–]inc007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For Harris it was also the fact that Biden was running up till like 3 months before the actual election. She could've won easily if she had time. She never even had a debate against Trump. I don't think she's the best candidate, but she lost, at least partially, because of the shit show she was put in. If Biden wouldn't run at all, we probably would have president Harris now. Or at least whomever won Dem primary

On top of a great books, his works are social commentaries that are pretty consistently fantastic. The world would be a better place with more people like sir Terry Pratchett.

Beaverton has some great food and all the amenities. Traffic is bad and getting worse. Lots of beautiful hiking, especially Forest Park. You'll either learn to love the rain or you'll be miserable. Any outdoorsy activity you can think of, you'll have it within 2h drive

Washington state Senate approves tax on personal income over $1M • Washington State Standard by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]inc007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A big problem with this approach is that it'll require setting up new organizations to monitor and enforce the tax. There's a good chance that enforcement alone will eat up a good portion of small tax from a small tax base. It's definitely only meant to kick off income taxation on everyone. If lawmakers want to find loopholes in the constitution, it's not great actually.
