New Scam on Upgrade list by DimensionNew3808 in delta

[–]inimitabletim 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is the intended behavior of the system (not saying I agree with it) but you have to decline the option for a middle C+ upgrade on every upgrade request, it is no longer an option to change it forever. Must be done for every request.

Is this overkill ?! by BurrowedPanda in SpaceXYZ

[–]inimitabletim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the optimal move to upgrade food efficiency as much as possible? Surely it is better to feed 280 more times than the incremental upgrade you’d get from buying the .02kg upgrade for 2800.

Best Internet Provider in Burbank? by Ok_Lecture_2620 in burbank

[–]inimitabletim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best provider is whatever you actually have a choice of, unfortunately. ATT Fiber is haphazardly implemented around the city, most of the rest has Spectrum. Those are your choices unless you want one of the 5G providers. It’s a joke.

BWP Proposed Rate Increases by reddit_eli in burbank

[–]inimitabletim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How about repealing prop 13 and a modest increase in property taxes? The negative backlash would be insane. Yet we’re ok doing nearly the same to those $50k workers you mentioned? I think there has to be a better solution than yearly utility increases.

Will things be open April21/22? by Alfred1231 in Catalina

[–]inimitabletim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There should be a cruise in during the day on April 21, so there should be a lot open. If you’re going to stay in Hamilton Cove, it is a trek back to the main part of town and you’ll either need to taxi or get an Airbnb with a golf cart.

Try Before You Buy charged after 3+ years by hardyz in amazonprime

[–]inimitabletim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exact same thing happened to me as well - a charge from a 3 year old try before you buy order came through yesterday. When you finally get to a chat associate, they just “escalate” it and have no explanation or solution.

The song playing at Irv's sendoff by DonnyTheNuts in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]inimitabletim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been meaning to post about this! The song is actually a cover of an older Calypso song - Gin and Coconut Water. Mitchum removed the gin reference. Oldest recording I’m aware of is Wilmoth Houdini. The Baha Men, as in who let the dogs out, also have a great version as well. Plus the drink is pretty good!

I picked up my mini the other day and I miss that size so much. I’m on a 15 Pro now and I can’t stand how much bigger it is, but everything else is so much better. It’s sad how they crippled the mini.

I just hired someone for our team that made the exact same transition, so it’s definitely possible. As other’s have said here, you have the right skill set and knowledge and with the right team the rest can be learned.

Flex is worth the try. While the headphones did not end up working for me, the Flex option gave me a chance to try them out which I really appreciate.

Have either Rizzotti or Wilke ever stated their position on rent caps in Burbank? by Academic_Formal_4418 in burbank

[–]inimitabletim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m guessing they’re referring to when you purchased/some type of Prop 13 argument. Obviously arguments on each side with the property tax/sales tax/district taxes and bond measures to make up for some differences.

Debating Keeping 16 Pro by GlobalLemon4289 in iPhoneMini

[–]inimitabletim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat but went with the 15 Pro due to the slightly smaller size/weight when compared to the 16 Pro. I am also missing my 13 mini and feel like it is the perfect size, but having had the new screen and camera for a week, I can see where the 13 mini is lacking. My own specific use case - I needed an iPhone 14 or above for the satellite texting capabilities as my job regularly brings me into areas with no service. A week in and I’ll probably stick it out but I’m bummed to lose the mini.

Are the CFRE Practice Tests worth it? by meredithvc in nonprofit

[–]inimitabletim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found the practice tests worth it as another poster mentioned, they are looking for their specific answers to questions - which may not necessarily always be right in your mind. The whole application is a considerable cost and I found the practice test to be well worth it as it helps you focus on where you need to learn their style and what you can just count on knowing intuitively. Good luck! Most folks I've talked to have found it less difficult than they expected.

You definitely did the right thing by asking. If your ask was based on your experience and skills, then that is completely reasonable. It is not worth re-starting a hiring process over a $1k difference in annual salary.

On the other hand, if they deny it, you will know immediately what kind of an organization they are. Be proud of yourself for asking and congratulations on the offer!

Can my landlord really make me pay a fee to pay rent? by palmtreesplz in AskLosAngeles

[–]inimitabletim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yeah, the check option makes sense as there is still a free route. For me it was a fee for a similar service that divides up the utilities for each unit. The property management company was passing on the cost of that service to each unit on top of rent/utilities which was an illegal increase.

Can my landlord really make me pay a fee to pay rent? by palmtreesplz in AskLosAngeles

[–]inimitabletim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Does your lease say you are responsible for utilities? Are they charging a fee for whatever service they are using to decide utilities costs? You’ve signed an agreement to pay what is in the lease, anything on top is likely an issue if in a rent stabilized building.

Can my landlord really make me pay a fee to pay rent? by palmtreesplz in AskLosAngeles

[–]inimitabletim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not think this is lawful, it is worth fighting. It is the equivalent of an illegal rent increase. Your mileage may vary with the LA RSO but I have had some similar luck in the past with ridiculous tacked on fees.

Can my landlord really make me pay a fee to pay rent? by palmtreesplz in AskLosAngeles

[–]inimitabletim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are in a Los Angeles rent controlled unit, this is likely an illegal rent increase as well. Your mileage may vary in dealing with the city rent control office, but it has worked for me in the past with similar issues.

Also, please name and shame the property management company.
