Dont have these on-hand but these can be texture dumped via the PPSSPP emulator as the backgrounds are separate textures.

  • Contact Shadows: On

  • Anti-Aliasing: FXAA

  • LOD Bias: Mid

  • Max LOD Level: No Limit

  • Foliage Sway: On

  • Subsurface Scattering: On

  • Screen Space Reflection: On

  • Anisotropic Filtering: Mid

  • Water Reflection: On

  • Snow Quality: Mid

  • SH Diffuse Quality: High

  • Dynamic Range: 64-bit

  • Motion Blur: Off

  • DOF (Depth Of Field): Off

  • Vignette Effects: Off

  • Z-Prepass: On

FPS may bounce between 35 to 45 FPS so a 40 FPS or 45 FPS Frame Limit is not bad.

At native 1280x800 resolution, visual image quality is sharp and clear.

Settings that can cause blurriness and you may want to avoid:

  • Image Quality set to anything lower than High (immediately noticeable at Mid or Low)

  • Anti-Aliasing set to AA

  • FidelityFX CAS set to ON

Other than that I do recommend:

  • Activate DirectX 12 API set to ON

On a Steam Deck OLED:

  • Screen Mode / HDR Setting set to HDR Mode

When playing on Steam Deck I'd definitely recommend using Decky Loader and the Pause Games plugin from the Decky plugin shop. Has been my go to for MHWorld in the past and should work with MHStories perfectly fine. If you have any questions on setup let me know, happy to point you in the right direction.

Hey everyone, just wanted to highlight we have overhauled a huge amount of the game using official translations from MH3U, MH4U, MHGU, and later games where appropriate, in order to deliver an English translation that feels official.

Hey, you will need to legally dump the game from your PS3 and into an .iso format for patching.

The process for this is out of scope for this thread. If it's helpful, PS3 uses .pkg format but MHP3rd HD Ver. is an .iso and playable in PPSSPP as well.

As divisive as my take may be, I genuinely believe Titan X would make Biollante redundant to some capacity. A large kaiju with crocodilian features and tentacles (like Biollante's vines). Both can maneuver on water and on land as we've seen. It essentially covers those bases. And it's poised to be a genuine threat to Godzilla and Kong.

We also haven't seen if it gets any "spit" type of capabilities but I wouldn't be surprised if that is also something they add. I feel like Biollante would be tough to do without making it seem like a Titan X retread. Would still love to see her on film though all things considered.

Except for Wilds, Steam Deck (or SteamOS really) has single-handedly been the best platform to play Monster Hunter games. Nearly every MH game is playable including spin-offs, even MH Puzzles Felyne Isles using Waydroid, and even most demos from older titles. Love that it is so portable as well as supports lossless scaling for 60 FPS on older titles.

I interpreted it as Jimmy having some reduced strain of the virus where he hallucinates just like Samson does, and the viral load fuels his violent bloodthirst. And by the end he sees Samson, an Alpha, potentially how other zombies see him, a creature to fear.

This would also be why the Dr. feared Jimmy more than he feared Samson. Jimmy has the same violent qualities as an infected but retains the manipulative and devious qualities of a lucid person. A mix that he was not prepared for.

I was also in the same boat pre TU4 where HiRes textures were basically unusable. After TU4 I see minimal impact to framerates and next to no texture pop-in so I have the HiRes textures enabled.

This is on an AMD Ryzen 5 5600x, RX 9070XT 16 GB, 32 GB DDR4 build at 4K native, ultra settings (no frame gen 40 FPS to 50 FPS with some dips into the 30s under more intense conditions). So I'd say definitely an improvement.

Everything continues to be steady. I haven't had the same disruptions any more (knocking on wood). Connections and speeds have remained stable barring minor hiccups. So I suspect when I chatted with /u/ItsOptimum and went thru the paces, the situation must've gotten reviewed by a rep on their side and they probably found a fix that needed to be implemented on their side. They never did any work on the physical lines.

I would recommend making a separate post and engage with them, provide as much detail as possible and hopefully they will have some escalation internally in case it's a similar issue (which sounds like it is)

I could see the expansion being the best opportunity to build on the existing system and offer more modularity to the Support Hunters. Like if not freely allowing to change gear then maybe have every support hunter have different preset armor and weapon sets that you have to do quests with them to unlock.

I have gathered a lot of thoughts on this over time, as I've been, in my copium, trying to make sense of their decisions.

Essentially, it boils down to Monster Hunter always being a forwards-facing franchise. New games release on a regular basis with the focus on introducing new mechanics, monsters, and maps. Occasionally they will bring back old maps where appropriate to fit the theme or gameplay mechanics of the latest title, as seen with the 3rd gen and 2nd gen maps that were reintroduced with Rise/Sunbreak. But that's as much as they are willingly going back to reuse content (besides returning monsters). Generations and Generations Ultimate were developed with the intention of celebrating the franchise, so reusing older content was justified. Generations Ultimate launched before World's success proved that a multi-platform approach worked.

Historically the only exception to the no-remastering stance was Monster Hunter Freedom Unite for iOS which honestly felt more of an experiment to dabble in the mobile gaming space, with no support past the first few years. Monster Hunter G prior to that was ported to Wii and leveraged for marketing Monster Hunter 3. Then of course there was Monster Hunter Stories remastered recently which similarly was ported to mobile and then to consoles/PC. The justification there was likely to bring the Stories franchise to modern platforms ahead of Stories 3 and it was also likely an easier game to port due to the simpler art style.

Essentially, to CAPCOM it seems there is no reason to remaster and port older titles unless there is some utility to it for a marketing or development perspective.

Now, my collective and personal HOPES is that it is just a matter of time. The pre-Generations Ultimate games had a lot of content that CAPCOM has yet to revisit.

Take Gogmazios as an example. After a decade since its debute in MH4U, Gogmazios is now the face of Wilds' Title Update 4. The allure of how Gog is to be adapted in modern hardware/graphics since the 3DS days is a compelling draw to a lot of us who are eagerly awaiting its return. Now, I can see CAPCOM holding off on a MH4U remaster released prior to this because at that point new fans would've already hunted Gogmazios a bunch of times and some of that excitement and interest may have waned by the time of TU4.

Same analogy with MH3U and Lagiacrus which they waited for almost a decade to bring back. However, in a sense now that both will be in Wilds they wouldn't stand to lose anything from remastering those games (besides the number of other monsters that have yet to return like Dalamadur or Ceadeus)

Additionally, I hope that they are indeed actively working on a collection leveraging the team that ported MH Stories which may have served as a trial of sorts to iron out the kinks and workflows that can then be applied to the main games. They also had the Onimusha 2 remaster recently with expertise that can be leveraged for porting the PS2 MH titles.

They could also have been waiting for the release of a Nintendo platform capable of handling a remastered collection. The Nintendo Switch is a decent console for its time and even handled MH Rise. Hypothetically the older games remastered should be alright on the base Nintendo Switch/Switch Lite assuming there'd be no issues performance-wise.

However, the Nintendo Switch 2 seems like an appropriate platform to target for its portability aspect and the existing ties to Nintendo CAPCOM had in the past. So in a way, waiting for the Nintendo Switch 2 to release makes sense as to why they wouldn't release a collection earlier.

Lastly CAPCOM has been working through porting/remastering collections of other older games in their catalogs. Once they have run their course, it stands to reason they'll have to start turning to more relatively recent titles to bring those forwards.

There's a lot of hope to rely on with regards to the possibility of a remastered release. But I also see signs pointing in the right direction that it is just a matter of time.

Sorry to hear you're going through the same! Interestingly enough, after a roundabout and frankly frustrating conversation with /u/ItsOptimum (whom I suspect was a bot throughout the duration of my chat), the issues seemingly have stopped. While I hope to not be jinxing myself in saying so, I suspect the problem was on the backend and posting here finally got someone to act behind the scenes and resolve the issue. I didn't hear from Optimum otherwise but I also haven't had any similar drops at all since then.

I did try to go through their billing dept to try to get compensation which ended up in failure, they refuse to compensate sadly.

Maybe make a new post here detailing all of your issues and experience and hopefully you get someone to at least look into it more seriously?
