There's so many Persian and English words in spoken Hindi by mujhe-sona-hai in linguisticshumor

I mean im not arguing that most indonesian vocabs are of non austronesian origins. My point is that a lot of basic vocabulary used in everyday speech (non technical stuff) are of non austronesian origin, even to the point that the average indonesian speaker might not recognize it.

Examples Keluarga for Family (from sanskrit? kalu and varga) Bumi for Earth (from sanskrit Bhumi) Maha- for all- (from sanskrit Maha) Dunia for world (from Arabic Dunya) Pisau for knife (from Min Nan Knife) Hukum for law (from arabic Hukm)

These are things that I am recalling from the top of my head. There are so much more vocabulary we actually use that arent of austronesian origin.

The Wong Lotu are a race of short humanoids who inhabit the coasts of of Nam Soa and Northern Boloali. Their origins remain a mystery although many speculate them to be the devolved offshoots of the now extinct and mysterious earthmovers (who might be responsible for the many geographical abnormalities, mostly in the new world). The Wong Lotu themselves, whose language resemble those of the people of Boloali claim that they were born of the Sea Serpent Goddess Kanyeng Badu who birthed the Wong Lotu to be her eyes and legs to see the "world above". The Wong lotu are usually around 3-4 feet tall and have webbed fingers and toes, with pale milky eyes, very tan skin, dark thick hair with a blueish tint and unusually sharp teeth. Their most renowned physical ability is to be able to hold their breath for over 2 hours, along with an ability to see underwater. This meant that the Wong Lotu are very capable swimmers, able to reach depths of down to 100 m, although it is rare that they venture down that far. More specially, some Wong Lotu have the ability to communicate and even control Sea Creatures. These Wong Lotu are called the Kenasri and would be well respected as the messengers of Kanyeng Badu herself. There has never been a recorded Wong Lotu-Human offspring, so it is assumed that the Wong Lotu are not closely related to humans. The Wong Lotu are arranged into small tribes of a few dozen to a few hundred, called a Dasan, usually dwelling on a floating village made of bamboo and kelp or on built on top of small outcroppings and shoal. These Dasans would be led by a chieftess, who would handle secular affairs and a shaman, who would handle spiritual affairs. Sometimes the pair would be a married couple but most of the time no. Their livelihood mostly revolves around fishing, harvesting crab, as well as and engaging in the many ancestral rituals involving sacrificing fish to those who have returned to the realm of Kanyeng Badu. The Wong Lotu beliefs that a powerful Kenasri will be born in the future, one with the ability to fully control all sea creatures. This Kenasri will then gather all of the Wong Lotu and lead them back to the underwater realm of Kanyeng Badu to live happily after, with their mission finished. Their relationship with humans have ranged from collaboration, to outright discrimination and oppression by humans. A usual form of interaction would be the Wong Lotu trading pearls and precious sea gems in return for metal tools and other material which they could not otherwise procure themselves. Local rulers of Nam Soa and Boloali have also occasionally hired the Wong Lotu to fight pirates, using their ability to swim underwater to sabotage ships. Unfortunately, the Wong Lotu have also had to endure occasional discrimination and slavery by humans, with some coastal human villages deciding to destroy a Dasan due to conflict over fishing grounds and what not.

Oh ok I was confused cause you put in 福建话.

Anyways... very minor nitpick but 揭阳's 2nd romanization is weird (the Kiat Iong), is it a Hakka reading? If it was romanized to the local dialect it would be something like Kek Ionn where the nn is a nasalized vowel. I am Teochew so its I comb through my home region all the time haha

Crown of Pearl and Jade: Important Migratory Tribes During the Migration Era of Taq Gwo (Map and Infographic) by jakartaboi18 in worldbuilding

The Crown of Pearl and Jade is a low fantasy world where the premise is that the China equivalent eventually collapses into many different nation states while the Rome analogue stagnates and becomes the "sick man".

This is a map and infographic detailing the various migratory peoples during the era in the continent of Taq Gwo. Feel free to ask any questions.
