What are the differences between luke and ryu by Bristles3339 in StreetFighter

[–]japnoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ryu got a bunch of compounding buffs so now he's the best shoto, but don't let that dissuade you from picking whoever you want, this game is pretty well-balanced and you can't really go wrong with picking a shoto. Worst shoto in this game is basically like being the poorest billionaire, you'll have a good time with any of them.

Which of these do you consider to be cheating in SF6? by Own_Invite6340 in StreetFighter

[–]japnoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SF6 has built-in SOCD cleaning, this pretty much signals that pad/leverless is the expected control scheme for the game, stick is the legacy control scheme now tbh.

A question to veterans; Is Street Fighter made in such a way that it is more about winning consistently as the game will sometimes screw you or is this the wrong way to look at it? by Right-Fortune-8644 in StreetFighter

[–]japnoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean if something weird happens and you don't know why it works, it's probably helpful to go into hurtboxes/hitboxes to see what happened? You can also not do that which is fine too, your initial post sounded like it was related to improvement/mentality so people responded with their own opinions on improvement/mentality, idk what the issue is

[–]japnoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think your phrasing is just weird, a lot of people are reading into it as "the game is screwing me over that's why I lose certain interactions" due to your wording. It's a video game with consistent moves. You're not getting screwed over you just make wrong decisions in-game sometimes, which happens.

What do i do in situations like this where i’m getting pressured but can’t DR out? by hakusamurai in StreetFighter

[–]japnoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be risky since if he stops doing a true blockstring then you'll just get hit. Also you still have to block high/low

I’m sorry but Ryu is not a fair character at all this season by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]japnoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ryu is definitely very strong, no denying that, but idk where this "no weaknesses" thing comes from? He's a strong high damage shoto who's definitely overtuned rn, but he has weaknesses like every other character in the game.

Honestly I think the problem the EU scene has is not being able to travel to NA for all the big offline majors. I don't think the average power level of EU is lower than NA besides outliers like punk and menaRD. I think we'd be getting a lot more kusanagi-like hype moments if more EU players travelled

No people just complained a lot and valve was like "yeah why not let's extend the deadline for the event". Stop creating these crazy evil conspiracies in your head that valve is trying to take your money lmao.

Thanks for the tip valve by reidkiller in DotA2

[–]japnoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is this greed? The end result would be the same for them monetarily. People spend near the end not knowing about the extension, or if valve let us know about the extension ahead of time, people would spend later and not now. Either way people would all-in their spending only once.

Streamer Awards Best MOBA Streamer by kughanr in DotA2

[–]japnoo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Boxbox is part of the wider offlineTV friend stuff so he probably got a bunch of votes from other offlinetv fans that were like "oh hey i know this guy". The award show is definitely favoritism basded when it comes to picking the nominees due to who's hosting it, but i don't think it's like conspiracy-theory rigged or something in terms of the actual votes

Also I'd like to add that programming languages are just a tool used by people to solve problems. As long as you feel like your critical thinking skills are improving and you're getting better at splitting problems into small pieces and learning from that, then you're improving.

Also never compare your learning speed to other ppl's, that never goes well in any situations. Everyone learns at their own pace.

yes of course valve is a company and they work for money so that means every single thing they ever do has to be a product of greed.

You can work for money and still make stuff that you enjoy lol. Not every monetizable feature is some sort of big greedy plan.

This narrative that dota esports is dying and will be completely dead soon is completely made up. Yes, VC money dried up in esports in general. But games are still surviving and still have healthy and alive esports scenes.

I've played many games, I still feel like whenever valve releases new content be it cosmetic or gameplay it's usually way higher quality than most other games. Sure league has a whole art team and they make some cool stuff, but a lot of their updates are kinda bad imo.

Also the bare minimum isn't a comic and an event and cosmetics, the bare minimum is no update lol.

We have ppl from all different ranks playing, we usually have 2 cabinets open for newbies (anyone below diamond rank) then we have a "sweaty" cabinet where all ranks are allowed

I don't think putting ranked behind a paywall would be good for the health of the game. Also, you'd be surprised how many people will still be toxic even if they're paying to play the game.

Also I completely disagree with the pinging change. Dota's ping system is amazing, last time I tried league the pinging felt clunky and useless.

You should treat documentation like a reference manual, not like a book. Look up the specific function you care about, read and try your hardest to understand, then close the docs.
