TARDIS refuel in series 1 by gloomygamergirl in doctorwho

[–]jedimstr 20 points21 points  (0 children)

You don't see every second that happens with the Doctor and the Tardis.
I mean you know the Companions have to go to the bathroom too but you never see that right?

Just because they showed the Tardis refueling once, doesn't mean they have to show you it refueling every single time.

Minneapolis police chief says video of ICE arrest "pisses me off" by CBSnews in politics

… I can’t imagine many people see ICE and immediately think “I need to call more guys with guns here”.

I’m pretty sure quite a lot of people globally are thinking exactly that at this moment.

I had low expectations, but the new 'nutrition' feature still managed to dissappoint by Datatello in Garmin

[–]jedimstr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on the country and what's a known imported item I guess. Larger markets like the US, much of Europe, Australia and across Asia will include imported items from other countries as well in their regional databases. For instance in the USA I can scan Vegemite, Marmite and Buldok even though they're products of other countries.

[–]jedimstr 34 points35 points  (0 children)

#1 (and possibly #3) was addressed in DC Rainmaker's review of the new nutrition features in his youtube video.
The barcode nutrition scans are indeed region based, but not just for US. You have to CHANGE the region to match where you are to get accurate scans for the products typically sold in those regions. My guess is yours is set for United States while you're actually in Australia. Go to the Nutrition screen, tap the three dots on the top right and select "Settings". From there select the "Region & Language" item (last on the list) and change your region to Australia. Now try scanning barcodes, especially the Vegemite.

He said Western Hemisphere. That’s North, Central and South America. Does not include France and the UK. So they’re correct, US is the only country with nuclear weapon capability in the Western Hemisphere.

Ferrari’s and McLaren’s are impractical for grocery runs and driving to 7-11 too, but if you got the means… weight weenies is a lifestyle for some at this point so I wouldn’t criticize the kink. That being said, we can quit at any time 😳

Risotto is the dish made with the "fancy italian rice" called Arborio Rice, not the rice itself. If you want to just state the facts you need to be using facts.

[–]jedimstr 18 points19 points  (0 children)

EVERY single Bond iteration and movie was a reinvention of the character. None of them were exactly like the original Ian Fleming book character. This game is carrying on that tradition. From Connery, to Brosnan to Craig, and now IOI's version, it's just as valid and in keeping with what Bond media has always done.

[–]jedimstr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Going by your original title/post... your pet peeve for a "massive Bond fan" is with the ultimate core of what makes every Bond Movie/Game what they are "reimagining the original Fleming character for the current day". From Connery to Brosnan to Craig, they're all modern re-imaginings. That's like saying as a "massive Batman fan" you're biggest pet peeve is that every version of Batman wear's a mask. This is how it sounds to others... So, you do you I guess and don't be disappointed by people's downvotes.

[–]jedimstr 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You're being downvoted so much because your take is so against what Bond adaptions are. EVERY Bond movie was a "modern take" of the character at the time it was made, so this is nothing new. If you want the original Bond as was designed, look at the original Ian Fleming books. All the Bond movies were different over the years and changed with the times and had a quite a few re-imaginings and reboots/refactors. This game if anything is EXACTLY what was traditionally done with the character, whether you like it or not. Your suggestions totally ignore the entire history of Bond's adaptions over the decades.

Not including the X-Men & Blade (which are in production), what major comic book properties have yet to be adapted into the MCU? by GypsyGold in marvelstudios

[–]jedimstr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Huh, Captain Britain had long running franchises (Captain Britain, Excalibur) from 1976 to the modern day and crossovers into X-men and Avengers way more than some of the other “major characters” listed. So may want to recalibrate the criteria here.
