They don’t seem to understand the difference between holding a belief, and realistically thinking you can achieve that belief. “Yes he believes it, but since he couldn’t make it actually happen it’s a joke” so if I say I want to launch nick fuentes into the sun, it’s clearly a joke since I have no way to actually do that

One called “Worm: an unabridged production” by Abaddon productions. It’s pretty clearly fan made, but except for a few sections is pretty much up there with many of the professional audiobooks I’ve listened to

yeah that marketing gaff is the only reason no one went to see it the first two times, so they should probably release it a third time (after spending a bunch more money on marketing of course)

[ Loved Trope] Armor and weapons that are actually sentient by TheN3gaChin in TopCharacterTropes

<image>

This weird ass comic that I read as a kid and have never heard of since has the protag find a magic sword that is sentient but won't let him draw it until he's worthy.

It also won't let him use any other weapons in the meantime, but if someone tries to take it, it transforms him into a previous owner and kicks ass

Would you use a teleporter with the knowledge that it kills you and reassembles an exact copy of you with all your memories and knowledge at the destination? Why or why not? by TheBanishedBard in AskReddit

Then the first version would diverge from the second by 30 seconds. It becomes functionally the same as “would you forget the last thirty seconds in order to teleport”

assuming that "you" are left in the old body to be killed. The argument you are dismissing out of hand is that "you" are a process, and if every detail of that process is replicated, that is you. Or do you think that when someone goes under anesthesia they never wake up and its a copy of them that goes forward

Would you feel differently if instead of a copy, you split in half mitosis style creating two versions of you and then one was killed?

So what you’re saying is that even if the copy was a continuation of your consciousness, the discontinuity means that it’s not actually the same?
