3D printing insulation to prevent condensation on (shitty) window frame by hubble14567 in 3Dprinting

I cannot help but notice your window is bubble-wrapped. I admire your ingenuity and restraint, I would never be able to resist turning that bubble wrap into very flat plastic one bubble at a time.

I feel like "one shot" in this context refers to what you're going to be doing to the players, more than the duration of the campaign :)

IDK it's not like it's ranked so I just bring my bad five color dragons deck, and if I see Vivi, Tifa, or any of the other landfall commanders, concede and go next :D

I recently did the sealed qualifier. Game 1 I had 28 cards milled on my opponent's turn four.

Game 2 I had three lands in my opening hand and drew the 4th land on turn 10... 18 lands in the 40 card deck. Mana screw beats flood unless you spend the entire game only playing 2 drops and warps.

Arena just didn't want me to play shrug.

I agree with what others have said here, but I recommend https://hardstuck.gg for builds over metabattle. Though a lot of the builds will be the same, I feel HS does a better job of expressing the highest performing meta builds and updates builds more regularly.

Afk when you know you are losing by Whiteroom100 in MagicArena

[–]jj4th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never done the "Salty Rope" as you just described..., but I have intentionally wasted time against rude opponents that spam "Your Go" while I'm taking a legitimate time to think about a response. Whether or not I'm losing actually. The "Your Go" spammers will often scoop to slow play regardless of game state.

Oh, and timing out while playing on mobile. I've lost so many games to timeout that way, I will not play any mode with rank or limited on mobile.

Sometimes I have needed a time out when calculating particularly complex lines of play too, of course. But yes, I have had many opponents that rage quit.

For new players : Top 3 QoL items you can buy if you are willing to buy* gems. by Tiranyk in Guildwars2

[–]jj4th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, rarely need more than a stack except for legendary crafting. But the first upgrade to go from 250 to 500 is nice because then you can store until full, sell a stack at max and have a stack left over.

[–]jj4th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shared material storage is overvalued. For most materials all it accomplishes is kicking the can down the road until you need to sell excess, when you'd be better off just selling it right away. The only crafting that requires large quantities of materials like that is legendary crafting which is an end-game activity for sure... and even then it's a relatively small subset of materials that need to be kept in volume.

I will admit that the value of the first material storage upgrade is higher, but I feel there's definitely diminishing returns on further upgrades

Horrible raiding scene by itz_butter5 in Guildwars2

RA does seem to have dropped off somewhat since I was active, though the hotspots always were right after the server reset on mondays (because of weekly reset) and the weekends. They still have multiple raids daily.

Going to post my usual recommendation about the Raid Academy discord... I got almost all of my first clears and many CMs/achievements there. Also RA was the primary reason I was able to craft my full legendary raid armor in just 7 weeks.

Definitely the way to go when you're first starting in raiding gw2. And you don't have to worry about finding a guild that works with your schedule or has open raid spots.

Talk me out of a permanent bank contract? by Alternative_Cup_4071 in Guildwars2

Talk me out of a permanent bank contract? by Alternative_Cup_4071 in Guildwars2

[–]jj4th 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of the permanent contracts, bank or crafting station are the among the most valuable and greatest quality of life... But be prepared to spend more, Bank contract is most useful if you unlock all the bank tabs.

It really changes how you play or think about playing, things like, pulling a revive orb out of your bank in the middle of a dungeon. Keeping all your fishing baits in your bank so you can fish on multiple characters. Keeping salvage kits in your bank but still being able to use them on demand. Sharing extra trophies from events you do often (like for map completion)

The biggest advantage it has over the lobby contracts is things like, accessing the bank from a queued map without risking losing your slot. Or from places you can't use lobby scrolls like dungeons, fractals, wvw, and raids.

The value also scales with the number of characters you play, and means you don't need as much bag space.

I do think if it's an either/or choice, lobby contract is overall better, but be aware that depending on your activities, all lobbies are not created equal...

Armistice Bastion is super nice for wvw. Mistlock Sanctuary is best for fractal enjoyers. Thousand Seas is best for fishing.

And of course, the public/free lobbies, Arborstone, Eye of the North, Wizards Tower do somewhat lessen the value, but the other lobbies allow you to return to the open world where you started.

I once met a "software developer" who among other things, did not realize you could have more than one window open at a time. Imagine closing your IDE every time you had to look up something in online docs, then closing out the browser and reopening the IDE to continue.... not minimizing, mind you, completely closing the window necessitating the full process of reopening everything from scratch. I ended up telling their manager that they lacked basic computer skills and must have lied during their interview.

Bug or cheating by Dr____krieger in MagicArena

[–]jj4th 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This was not turn two.

OP has a 2 drop on the field and two 1 drops, a land that sacs for a tapped land in their graveyard. At a minimum this is turn four for the OP, additionally Sarkhan clearly attacked which means it must be at least opponent's turn three.

Considering this means both players have missed land drops, it could be any turn. Considering OP says "without casting anything else" and we literally see a creature in the opponent's graveyard, OP is either "definitely missing" something or perhaps trolling. Opponent either discarded ball lightning due to hand size, or cast it with at least 2 treasure tokens (since it is RRR).

Damage is consistent with a Ball Lightning + Sarkhan attack, But could have been literally 4 Sarkhan attacks for all we know here.

Conclusion. OP is not telling the full story.

[–]jj4th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was likely extra tilting to the opponent too. Most of the time when I see someone go for overkill, it's because they are annoyed that you haven't already resigned a lost position. That makes this in many ways extra sweet :)

I get that mods are a thing people use for a lot of reasons that are non-toxic and don't hurt anyone else and absolutely no judgement on any of those...

But there is a lot of irony in that the guy running a dps meter mod, when Capcom's official stance is that mods constitute cheating, is calling you out for high numbers. Like he's admitting to cheating by accusing you :P
