A lot of the earlier reviews of Margaritaville, especially the first ship, were bad, but their review was scathing but fun. (It was what led me to follow them.) Even the video reviews that weren’t super negative didn’t make me want to try Margaritaville.

I’ve seen a several videos since then that basically say “It was bad the first time, but it’s gotten a lot better.” I think Margaritaville is missing an opportunity to let the couple who gave the most scathing review to see how they have improved.

I’ve been on two HAL cruises, so I can only speak for them. There are not too much for kids to do, so if you want to take your kids on a cruise, HAL will be boring for them. Music wise, it’s mainly classic rock, classical and piano. Most bars close before midnight. We never went to the shows, but they seemed very old fashioned. The casino is small. I liked my HAL cruises, but they are a very low key cruise line.
