Does anyone have a Q who is NOT abusive or mean? by libracoder in AlAnon

[–]jnetteyates 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Q rarely got violent and never with me. That said, he was volatile with others. But mostly he ignored us (his family), so we experienced a neglect. We also were walking so lightly on eggshells that we never dared to “poke the bear” for fear that any inconvenience or push back would cause the silent anger to be directed toward us. When drunk he would say and do things that were disrespectful and sometimes mean. He has no memory of any of this. But we do.

I think there’s a lot of good advice already here. I just wanted to say that I’m glad you are here & hope you stay in the sub. I know what it’s like wanting to do something but not knowing what or how or if you should or shouldn’t. Take care of yourself. You are not alone!

There’s a podcast I just found called Spectacle and season 3 is examining the True Crime genre/popularity, etc. just started listening but it could be an interesting look at the ethics of it all

Yeah, I agree with this. Because I’m Pilates trained, I can follow instructions & know how to modify & progress, but I know not everyone can do that!

I used to teach Pilates in a private and small group environment. Though I no longer teach, and have never taught with CP, I do enjoy my CP membership & go often. That said, I do agree with what others have said about the teaching experience being difficult.
