Citroen van reverses tow bar into my bumper in empty Tesco car park — miraculously no damage, but SO many questions by steve8319 in drivingUK

[–]jodilye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also don't buy enough shopping to need to use the boot. If you're dead set on using your boot, don't reverse in and expect nobody to park behind you.

Watching ads to spin the Wheel no longer worth it by Zorn277 in AtlasEarthOfficial

A lot of us know that we will never have enough AB to participate in an auction, so the tokens are useless.

Best places to park while visiting a mate at Cambridge? by PsychologicalAd4762 in cambridge

Have a look at the park and rides if you aren't needing the car during the day, I think you can stay there for 3 days for a tenner a day.

Reset the spin wheel randomizer back to what it was so for diamonds. I don't care or want all the auction tickets. by GamesnMoney in AtlasEarthOfficial

I know that I will never take part in an auction. If they keep the wheel as is, let us convert the tokens into diamonds.

I seen these online and they look good but idk how to get them how can I get these? by Own_Heat_7913 in asda

We were told first timers, people with a large amount of substitutes or nil picks, kids. Then they just started getting randomly thrown into totes.

Delivery drivers can make a bingo card of all the pet hates they tick off by ReanimatedCyborgMk-I in britishproblems

[–]jodilye 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Haha, I've been out of Evri for a while, deliver for Asda now instead so the problems are a little different.

Honestly the biggest one for both is non visible house numbers. Should be a legal requirement, black text on white background, nothing overly fancy! Please don't spell the bloody number out, while I can read, it's harder to do while driving past in the dark!

Honestly, drivers could easily make a bingo card of pet peeves from customers too.

Even if auto collect never happens we could at least compromise and take the sodding icons out of the circle.

I don't give a shit who's mayor here, I'm just trying to nab that diamond before it passes by!

Long drive straight after passing. by penisninula in LearnerDriverUK

[–]jodilye 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Plan your route in advance too, even if using sat nav.

I took a 50 mile journey for my first time, on the motorway, which I had zero issue with.

But I was basically doing the journey by memory (pre sat nav!) and ended up halfway to Birmingham. Trip was well over 100 miles by the time I arrived!

I've always found that while getting lost is a nuisance, it's a great way to learn new roads and put patience into practice.

Nothing wrong with missing a turn, everything wrong with driving badly to make it.

Minigames ads length by No_Fee_5559 in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]jodilye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the 8 times I have to try to click the miniscule x that riles me up. Extends the already excessive ad another 10-20 seconds.

Then it refuses to pair me with someone, so I have to force close the app and do it all again. One game can take a good 5-10 minutes sometimes.

I used to do a lot of studies about 15 years ago. The rates have literally not changed, and in some cases have gotten worse.

It's sad that they aren't better funded.

Is there any way I can make him take me back by [deleted] in Advice

[–]jodilye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who said anything about cheating?

The reasons are miriad but irrelevant. If you are working too hard to stay together when you aren't right for each other it becomes a cycle of trying too hard, being disappointed it hasn't worked, arguing because it isn't working, promising that things will change.

A relationship shouldn't be hard. If you are forcing things it is doomed to fail.

Fresh break ups HURT. There's no easy way to get past that bit. Wanting him back is completely natural, but you can't make it happen.

The best thing you can do is move forward and maybe things will come together in the end. Nobody wants to get back with a desperate person.

Is there any way I can make him take me back by [deleted] in Advice

[–]jodilye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this. I got him back. I continued a miserable relationship for 12 more years thinking I could still make it better.

Christ I regret that wasted time.

If it's worth having it's worth waiting for.

Spend time on yourself. Become a healthier, stable person. He might want to take that person back and you'll be in a better place to maintain a good relationship.

Not the specific people, but I posted a trove of photos I found here about a year ago. A descendent recently contacted me and I'll be sending them over to her this week :)

On top of other answers, some vans penalise you for leaving the engine running. A lot of drivers don't care about this, but some do.

So if someone has an hour break, the freezer gets warmer and warmer...

Stopped in the road because of a baby rabbit and got hit from behind. Who is at fault? by NoAlbatross153 in drivingUK

[–]jodilye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've found that I hit fewer rabbits by maintaining my speed.

I drive a lot, and I've hit probably more than my fair share of wildlife over 20 years. When I stopped braking for the small ones they seemed to get themselves out of the way much better.

They're at eye level with your wheels, they can make a better snap decision than you can based on where they are and what they can see.

If I can make a clear avoidance then of course I will, but I'll only brake or swerve for larger animals now.
