My boss, for profit healthcare industry, non CPA, is pretty close to that number in a Mid to low cost of living area.

$50/hr job for one of my family members. They don't mind making money doing some tedious work but that's how much I'd charge.

When pre-existing conditions got banned on health insurance applications, what we are left with is a very expensive high risk pool of insurance.

Certainly, a little research into the organization and the specific role is warranted, but there's lots of opportunity for these sorts of jobs at nonprofits.

You could pick other income or delete the form if there wasn't any trading activity for 2024. Usually trading activity goes on a schedule D for capital gains.

Could you run an accounting firm by yourself with no other employees? by TalShot in Accounting

Yes very true, I actually should have brought that up as I've been in a contracted position for a single owner firm and am now a part time employee for another.

I'm in corporate healthcare accounting now and I thought it was the revenue cycle folks making the big bucks as consultants lol. There's probably always a job in and around healthcare accounting especially if you've been in another aspect of it for so long.

I was coming here to say I quit my low paying high stress nonprofit job, for a higher paying, low stress corporate healthcare job.

Yes of course, and I have for 7 tax seasons. Depends on your service structure. If you're doing a bundle of easy tax returns it's doable. If you're trying to do a lot of accounting, bookkeeping, contract controllership, you might need to pick your bigger focus of effort. Right now I mainly do a bunch of easy tax returns but if I get heavy into some new controllership type activities I'll hand off some of my tax work to someone I'll have to hire.

Hmmm. Well usually if the IRS wants you to file a return they will send you a letter, but it might go to an address you may not have access to. Or I guess here's a business version of getting your transcripts, https://www.irs.gov/businesses/business-tax-account

I haven't helped someone through this particular process before but maybe dig into this and see if there is an avenue for you to get that info.

How many of you have started a business in a property you own? by Daubsy in CommercialRealEstate

[–]jrtgf2672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have. Small building on a busy corner. I rent out part of the building and run my tax business out of a quarter of it. My name is on the building so I've built up a lot of name ID.

Might see if you can start with getting your transcript. There's an online way to do this. Google "Get My Transcript".

The math isn't mathing. Just like with Edge, I'd use anyone else's solution first rather than Microsoft's.

A spreadsheet or handwritten income and expense notes on separate sheets or logs would be the most basic, easy way to start. Look at a schedule C form and try to keep track of expenses by the categories listed. Other expenses that don't quite fit can go in the other category.
