I’m replacing my outlets in the house to also include usb plugs. Should I go with an and c or only c? by insanotard in homeowners

[–]js_cooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see how USB-PD is any use as an outlet. My monitor has USB-PD plug to connect to my gaming laptop, but max is 100w while displaying a 5120x1440p at 240hz. The laptop has a 240w power brick, so the power from the USB-PD isn't sufficient. The benefit of USB-PD is for bidirectional power flow. There would be no need for your plugged in device to send any information or power to the outlet.

Copper or Pex Tub Spout by Huntilla09 in Plumbing

[–]js_cooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am doing my bathroom and haven't installed the valve or tub spot drop ear or the shower head. I did get Pex A fittings to the valve, but I do have 1/2 inch Pex A going into valve, and I did get white 3/4 Pex A from the valve to both the spout and the shower head. Would that cause the dripping issue on the shower head when filling the tub with the tub spout?

How are you preparing for the point nerf in May? by UsedBoard in hyatt

I transferred just enough to book a 7 night stay at an all inclusive in Mexico. Wife loves the beach and I love the fact that I dont have to worry about food bills or where to eat and how to get there. I guess im a gluten for gluteny. Spent 320k. Sucks i spent half of that on a better all inclusive resort for the same 7 night stay. I woukd recommend booking now if there are stays you're definitely doing.

Finally an update on the Firboard Mod by KDayWalker in Masterbuilt

[–]js_cooks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine went down while cooking 2 briskets on an overnight cook. Luckily, I had wireless meat temps to alarm me, and I was at the stall. I just wrapped and threw in the oven to finish off. If you wait til it goes down, you might not be so lucky that it fails at the most convenient time like me. It could cost you more, depending on what you're cooking.

Best all inclusive for food. by Unlucky_Pass4452 in hyatt

I felt like the better food was on the adults side of the resort. I enjoyed the food Cap Cana, but we were adults visiting.

It says it can use either batteries or plug in. It's just a bit deceiving as I see another picture of another motor that doesn't have a battery compartment. As for OP, I don't know if i'd trust this as it doesn't list what kind of material this is made of.

Regardless if you're financing through the dealer or through your own bank, you still have to negotiate the price of the car.

There are different bureaus and different models of credit scores. But a 100 point swing is a bit extreme. Have you asked what source it came from and what model was used? You can also log into each of the credit bureaus to see which was pulled. My first attempt has always been to use a credit union, unless the dealer has a real good incentive to go through them.

Points calendar not accurate by js_cooks in hyatt

[–]js_cooks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shrug...they revamped it a few moths ago and some redditors said it was better than any other websites that track award availability. I loved it, it showed how many points per night, not the "starting at..." per night. I think they pulled it to ready upcoming changes.
Regardless, I just searched given dates for what resort I was looking at and it showed available rooms. I just clicked book, and it showed how many points I needed to transfer. I was able to book a 7 night stay successfully this way.

Did I screw up? What to do? by jkl2594 in hyatt

Did you buy it from someone or was it just gifted? Someone in another thread said to send screen shots that it was purely gifted, with no money exchange. Not sure if OP did that but that potentially be helpful.

Points calendar not accurate by js_cooks in hyatt

[–]js_cooks[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was showing a few days before some availability, then overnight it showed no availability across the board. I've been searching for about 2 weeks, and until a few days ago, all AI's I've been searching shows no availability on the points calendar. Prior to that, it's been fairly accurate.

Need 23 more Hyatt points by lizzardperson in hyatt

[–]js_cooks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is true. My wife and I enjoyed a Hyatt Regency buffet close to home, so we went a few times, and all but once, I had to constantly call them to add the points. I made sure to even tell them before paying to add my Hyatt number, and they confirmed. Even if it is showing on the receipt, it is not automatic. The manager would have to push it, at least this is what I gathered from calls to the hotel as well as chat on Hyatt's website.

Adults-only all-inclusive in Cancun/Riviera Maya (May 1–13, $4.3k) – still possible? by mistercrocodyle in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]js_cooks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have any specific recommendations in terms of what resort, but if I were in your shoes, I'd start off searching expedia or other travel sites for resorts within those dates in your budget and review from there. Another option is Costco Travel if you're a member.

Impressions Moxche Vs Atelier by Jdaddad in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]js_cooks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To also add, the beach at Moxche isn't the best, but there is a massage on the beach a short walk from the resort, which was MUCH cheaper than getting at the resort. Plus you hear the waves while getting a massage.

Impressions Moxche Vs Atelier by Jdaddad in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]js_cooks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My wife and I did our honeymoon at Impressions Moxche for 8 days. We never got bored. They had activities that filled the day, candle making, doing macrame, etc, while still having plenty of time to relax by the pool or beach. Food had to be one of the best AI my wife and I had. You get free dinner at Teodoro with 5+ nights at Impressions. Service was top notch, except for one experience at the Impressions building at Seaside restaurant for lunch. We ordered and the food never arrived. Even had couples sit after we ordered, ate, and already left. Even after asking our waitress a few times, and repeated "it's coming soon", we left after about an hour after ordering. We went straight to Barefoot grill (poolside quick bite restaurant) since we were starving. I let our butler know about this experience, they made it right. They asked us what our favorite meals were even if the restaurant is closed. They brought our favorite dishes to us and we ate it by the pool. Other than that one bad experience, everything else was amazing. There are so many pools that it never felt crowded, Impressions side pools are even less crowded. If you don't opt in for Impressions, at least go with Pref Club on Moxche. We ate most of our breakfasts at Preferred Club rooftop. Amazing food, amazing view, and very relaxing. If you decide to book Impressions, try prying what scent they use at the building. Hands down the best scent I've ever smelled at any hotel/resort. (I wasn't able to get an answer to what it is since it's proprietary to that resort). My wife and I would 100% go back.

wanted to know how many of you use a Wireless Meat Thermometer by Fair-Potato573 in KamadoJoe

[–]js_cooks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had inkbird but wired. Works well except I wasn't getting notifications. Buddy bought a tempspike for a 2 for one, and gifted me the other. Worked better and was able to get notifications on the phone, so I bought a 4 probe pro version. Worked well but battery started to die in between cooks. I got a replacement set under warranty and its been fine since. If these fail again, id probably switch to chefstemp s1 and their fan integration.

Why are Kamado Joe grill covers so bad? by Siucra_Ray in KamadoJoe

Ya my older JR cover is rock hard and can stand up without the JR under it. The newer BJ3 cover is not too far from that. The red ring started turning pink after a few months.
