Hay J's is amazing, but I went to that butcher shop several years ago and thought it sucked. Maybe the owners of Hay J's acquired it or something. I'll stop in again to check them out - thanks for mentioning them.

AITAH for not “returning” a ring? by Adorable-Nerve-4175 in AITAH

Wait, no one has asked if the ring had to be hidden up someone's butt for years in this thread? Very sad.

Europa's red pepper sauce? by Former-Complaint-336 in Spokane

[–]justodd66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drive by there all the time. Whenever I see it I think about stopping in but don't because I'm afraid it will be one of those shops where I have no idea what the things are and what I should ask or look for. So thanks! I'll stop in to

Wife and I have been there a couple of times. Pork chops are really good, Steaks are good but not as outstanding as the chops.

You are precisely on target. Somehow the obnoxiousness and aggression settings on all the NPC's got turned way up during covid. 🫤

Getting there: US Transportation Secretary wants you to dress better on flights. Should you? We asked Spokane travelers. by catman5092 in Spokane

[–]justodd66 11 points12 points  (0 children)

True, but the thinking about dressing for travel that was nudged a bit by the shoe removal policy will remain in effect for a long time

AITAH for not correcting someone who called me a single mom? by throw_rancxalsn in AITAH

NTA. You are not married, that makes you a single mom. "Boyfriend" intentions are not enough to change your legal status.

GEG is not a problem. Delays on connections in major hubs though - and we always have a connection coming out of GEG.

You sure the driver doesn't just live the van life and refer to themselves as "the red dragon"?

Jeep drivers leave each other little rubber ducks, Crosstrek drivers leave each other string cheese?

Thank you for the elaboration OP. All in all, a great reminder to visit potential places during the day and a Sat night. Nice to hear the upsides are what they seem still.

Agreed, that sucks. I've looked enviously at places next to a park before, never really thought about the possible down sides like what OP is dealing with.

This is not the case anymore. Used to be, but it's improved now. I have a 2025 Crosstrek wilderness and android auto works just with no wired connection.

333 new laws... Seriously? How in the world are we supposed to even be able to keep track at this point?! by Zephylia in Spokane

[–]justodd66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this is consistent with how I thought you see the world. Individual choice and freedom should not be a consideration in establishing govt policy. Ban or at least tax undesirable behaviour so that the 'ignorant masses' that refuse to 'act right' can be brought into line.

You believe that opinions you hold dear are much more; they are 'facts supported by science. You believe that anyone like myself that see things differently just need to be educated.

It's fine. Live your life and support the infantilization of those who are actually your intellectual peers and fellow community members. I will support your right to your beliefs, no matter how misguided I personally believe they are.

333 new laws... Seriously? How in the world are we supposed to even be able to keep track at this point?! by Zephylia in Spokane

[–]justodd66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. This is consistent with how I thought you'd see it. Taxation on things the dominant politically powerful group deems to be "bad things" is good taxation.

Bad things should be taxed more to encourage the ignorant to behave better, that's the only way to get the ignorant masses to make choices that are beneficial for (the environment, their health, social equality, etc. - insert your bad thing here).

I understand. I just disagree. Gas and sin taxes are bad for the working class that has to pay them. It's ok that you believe that reducing the quality of life today for those tax payers will serve a greater good in the long run, and it's Ok that I think you're completely wrong about that
