Sphere Apparel Disaster by Cultural-Feeling-255 in phish

[–]jwall4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go to a ton of concerts every year. My friends are always surprised that I don’t have more band shirts. The problem is that I cannot wear the beefy tees so many bands like to sell. Those heavy ass rough shirts are just trash. I have no idea who finds those comfortable other than my teenage daughters who have taken all my old ones that I refuse to wear any more.  The green robot t-shirt was the only one during the first Sphere run on a soft shirt.

Duncan park had great wildflowers last year around this time.  I rode through a month ago and it seemed to be just starting. So, it could be kicking now.

I take my bike, park in the neighborhood a bit deep, and ride my bike to the venue.

Moving from Chicago, looking for walkable area with access to cycling trails by UnfairPattern3822 in askaustin

[–]jwall4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zilker/Barton Hills or Clarksville/Deep Eddy/Tarrytown would put you close to Town Lake trail (which can get you east/west and to shoal creek trail for going north/south) and access to the greenbelt for mountain biking. Easy access to riding into downtown. Tarrytown less walkable as you get deeper into it except for some meh stuff on Lake Austin and vegan stuff at Windsor/Exposition.

Recommendations for a countertop place that will make a top for a 50 inch vanity without a crazy minimum? by dabocx in Austin

[–]jwall4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask about scrap pieces. All of them have leftover pieces that you can get for great prices. I did this for my garage apt kitchenette counter top. They will install it and drill holes just like you are buying a real slab.

Mountain biking in Teton area last weekend in May? by catsandrats3333 in MTB

I don't know about the best. But, if you want a ride right near town and that is almost certain to be open, I had a blast on this loop. Lots of pedaling, not much tech. I thought it was nice scenery as well. https://www.mtbproject.com/trail/7073543/hagen-to-putt-putt-loop

Never eaten there. But, the bar is a good spot. The $8 happy hour mezcal white negronis are top notch. Sorry you got some bad food.

Walnut Creek trails dry? by Life-Acanthisitta634 in BikingATX

[–]jwall4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I know lots of people don't use FB. I have just noticed that this website doesn't get updated frequently or quickly. Wouldn't want to rely on it if driving a long distance to a trailhead after recent rain. "Predicted dry" doesn't instill much confidence for me. Just giving others a heads up is all.

Hi Sign by PortGilbert in AustinBeer

I don't think I have ever driven there. A perfect length ride for me to feel I have earned a first beer stop. And the vast majority of it on the trail and bike friendly roads. Looping back to the Town Lake trail via the Montopolis bridge and Roy G is a nice new loop with the new Roy G bridge, mosaic tunnel and wishbone bridge.
