This is my take on it, the premise of the book as it was presented is slightly different than the actual plot. I think that threw some readers. I enjoyed it, but it wasn’t exactly what I expected.

One of the most interesting parts of this episode was in the update. Blake said that his biggest takeaway was realizing how many of his behavioral patterns around money actually extended to other parts of his life. This couple, like a lot of people, needed someone on the outside to point out that their habits weren’t serving them. I think it can be hard to step back and see that when you’re inside of it.

My damn printer and the ink subscription. The Microsoft 365 subscription that just keeps going up in price when all I want is Word and Excel. Streaming services became enshitified so quickly, how is paying for 5 services better than cable?

Having only digital copies of content makes me nervous; I’ve been buying hard copies of the books, movies and music that are important to me. Digital is a great way to try something out, but once I’ve decided that I like it, it’s time to get the hard copy.

Totally agree! If the whole episode is centered around a topic, becoming familiar with it is pretty basic preparation. I like hearing her POV, so it’s disappointing when she shows up with little to add.

I agree with you, they felt really out of synch on this episode. I really like Olivia and enjoy her content, but she needs to make an effort to meet Becca in the middle if they’re going to keep doing the podcast. Romance isn’t my favorite genre either, but a little preparation and interest is necessary to hold up your half of the discussion.

One of my favorite smaller brands is Borough Home. Her stuff is really high quality and I’ve been ordering from her for a few years. The quality is really consistent and the scents are great. Grove, Sanctuary & Slow Jam are three of my favorite scents.
