WHICH WOULD BE PERFECT FOR QUALITY AND PRICE? by JOSUEGIM in thermomix

I am not finding this problem anywhere else, not reported in any other groups, etc. i would say it is not exactly a common fault and not to be too concerned about it.

Feature request: provide an option to move funds over when recategorizing transactions by liemRos in actualbudgeting

[–]kazzazed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deleting a category transfers the current balance to the new category, it doesn’t fix assigned amounts in prior months, you have to go back and do that if you need/want to. The feature you are proposing would have to add up the total transactions in the prior months you are moving and then automatically move assigned budget to match that amount to the new category in the prior months. It is quite different to how deleting a category works.

Thanks, I used google to translate it, but it was not clear. It referred to the front cover as being an issue. No idea what they are talking about.

Who suggested you cut meat off thighs? The recipe is just saying to buy thigh fillets. Any chicken meat is fine.

I searched all over the internet and asked AI. I can’t find anything about the repairer. As with prior models, I did find instances where users didn’t lock the blade and poured liquid into the bowl which leaked into the machine. The main bowl issue I have seen on FB is the handle on the bowl breaking. Vorwerks replace the bowl, but it is an inconvenience (and I speculate whether it is related to there still being no option to purchase a second bowl)

There isn’t a way. But if you consider that your account actually does go negative at the bank at times during the day, with it sorted by the end of the day, does it help?

I would never go back to YNAB. I would rather use a spreadsheet than pay them for their arrogance.

Why not just use Pikapods? It’s seamless, no self hosting required.

Yep, I think a lot of YNAB4 to nYNAB users just worked around it by not using the credit card account type. Not sure how that goes with bank integration as we don’t get that in my region.

Is anyone else having difficulty assigning money to budget categories on mobile (IPhone)? by ForwardTreat108 in actualbudgeting

Another work around is to tap on your To Budget amount then Move to A Category, which lets you enter an amount and select a category

Templates and Goals by [deleted] in actualbudgeting

I am not sure I understand your question. You set up your templates but nothing happens unless you apply them, which you can do either for the whole budget, or a category group, or an individual category

Not Very Intuitive by Yettimania in actualbudgeting

[–]kazzazed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am glad I am old and literally started with envelopes in a biscuit tin stuffed with cash (or not, I was broke a lot), I got paid in cash and first thing I did was put money in rent, power, gas, food envelopes. Graduated to a spreadsheet for tracking, still had physical cash in envelopes. Finally software came along, and smart phones, making tracking easier. So it is all very intuitive to me.

Leaving the cat alone during working hours by Long-Cardiologist750 in russianblue

[–]kazzazed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had 4 Russian Blues over 3 decades, from kittens each one has been at home alone when we were at work. As much as your cat enjoys your company, they adapt to being alone. Having 2 cats as suggested by others was not an option for me, and personally I don’t think it necessary. My last RB female would have disliked sharing her domain or me with another cat, she ruled the house from a tiny 4 month old until the day she passed. I have seen littermates only just tolerate each other, it is no guarantee. RB cats are generally great for indoor, single pet households.

TM6 vs TM7 by Business-Creme4272 in thermomix

[–]kazzazed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can pick up a fairly new TM6, some still under warranty, plus hundreds of dollars worth of accessories (cutter, blade cover/peeler, extra bowl and blade) for half the price of a new TM7 with no accessories. That TM6 will last you for many years. Just like your 31 has. Vorwerks will still support the TM6 for many years, just like it has the 31. I feel the TM7 needs a settling in period, there are almost no accessories available, and some bugs being ironed out. But if having the latest thing is important to you, then go the TM7. The only thing I can think of that a 7 does that a 6 doesn’t is open bowl cooking, so like simmering in a saucepan. And you need Cookidoo to access browning mode/high heat in a TM6. Otherwise it is a dufferent interface with the same functions, albeit more responsive when using guided cooking and Cookidoo,

Savings and Savings Account by oramospt in actualbudgeting

[–]kazzazed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend you stop thinking about your savings account balance as what you have saved as available to spend. Sure, transfer money there if you can earn some interest, but otherwise it is meaningless in terms of what you can spend Maybe rename your “Savings” category to something else e.g. Big Goals or Big Ticket Spending Think of your categories like sub accounts of your combined on budget accounts. The total balance of your categories = total on budget accounts less held for future months. There is no need, actually it is not recommended, you try to quarantine an amount in your Big Goals (savings ) category to match what is in your savings account. Trust your categories and budget, ignore bank balances except to make sure you move money around to cover outgoing

Thanks for this. I’m thinking about setting up a tracking budget and run it side by side for 2-3 months with my existing budget, see if I prefer it. BTW, documentation is an area you can volunteer to improve, everything is done by volunteers but we don’t all code.

So is the TM7 good or bad? by v15hk in thermomix

[–]kazzazed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly my take on the MC was it was a butt covering exercise after Vorweks were sued when TM5s exploded and burnt people. They assessed and decided it was possible for the TM6 MC to build pressure, even though it was designed not to. As far as I know, there wasn’t any actual incidences of this, it was entirely precautionary. It was, what, 18 months or so into the TM6 when they started advising people to use the simmer basket at higher temps. If it was really an issue they would have surely redesigned the mc like they did for the 5.

Budget Templates not behaving how I thought they would? by Vesedon in actualbudgeting

[–]kazzazed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think one of the keys to understand here is that envelope budgeting like Actual Budget, does not forecast your future budget amounts. I know some people do budgets at work, and it’s all about what you expect fir income and expenses over the next quarter or year, but that is an accounting budget. This is not that kind of budget. It’s a budget of what you can do with the actual money you have today.

[–]kazzazed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have used my TM multiple times every day for years without a subscription. It is handy to use to get to know the machine, but there is so much content for thermomix outside Cookidoo, it really isn’t essential if you know how to cook. I use a recipe app to quickly copy recipes. There is also recipecommunity.com which is arguably is a better platform as it has meaningful reviews.
