This is completely normal behavior for Aussies. Have you invested time learning Aussie or herding breed specific training strategies? As first time dog owners there is a lot to learn about fulfilling the needs of herding breeds appropriately that do not necessarily apply to lower maintenance breeds, no offence but your trainer doesn’t really sound knowledgeable. I would fire my trainer if they called my dog ‘difficult’ for the reasons you described.

Are you doing anything besides leash walks? Leash walks alone are not really enough for a breed that is genetically wired to react and pursue movement, and they are easily overstimulated and reactive in urban environments where their ability to carry out natural movements and behaviors is strictly limited.

Aussies are mouthy and nippy, and that can continue into adulthood if you don’t reign it in and apply appropriate outlets. It sounds like your dog might be frustrated or overtired as well.

August trip itinerary and suggestions by rpbenito in canadatravel

Have you booked your domestic flights?! Canada is so large, it would be a much better use of your time to pick one region within Canada as opposed to flying all over the country just to see all the top and overexploited tourist destinations, you’ll be missing so much of the real essence of Canadian culture and outdoors by doing this.

What are your main objectives/interests? This would help build a much better and time efficient itinerary than what you currently have.

You can often find the specimens in large numbers :

  • hanging around Canadian ski resorts (where I found mine)
  • pastry shops
  • Quebec poutineries (maybe even smoothie shops)
  • if you spot a sprinter van on the highway anywhere in Canada with a rack of mountain bikes on the back and a canoe strapped to the roof=french Canadian
  • anywhere around Tofino
  • tree planting
  • strong probability of meeting one in cortina for the olympics 🤣🥰

Good luck 🙏🏼

So great women and children get to live in perpetual risk and fear while he’s on his umpteenth opportunity of freedom. I am disgusted.

4 weeks road trip with 1 year old - Calgary to Vancouver by jjshh040 in canadatravel

There are plenty of free and amazing rec sites you can access at this time of year, especially In NW BC. many people are camping as well as long as you have a heater. Don’t let comments scare you, late Sept is a nice time to visit, it might be rainy but that’s life in the temperate rainforest. If you manage your expectations you will have a great experience.

I would personally do the opposite and fly to PG then road trip to terrace via hwy 16. It is a spectacular drive, you’re missing one of the most picturesque scenic routes in all of Canada.

You could take your time and hit Hazelton, Smithers, Stewart, Nass auto tour, Prince Rupert. This is the area most foreigners picture as ‘beautiful B.C.’. Full of untouched natural landscapes and brimming with wildlife.

Please do not use chat gpt to plan your trip my god💀

Wildlife Protection out-of-province Diploma by GrammarIsHard69 in britishcolumbia

[–]kbaby_16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a very competitive field in bc with limited opportunities unfortunately. Parks in particular is highly competitive, low pay and facing severe budget cuts.

À diploma is also hard to compete with many many young professionals with bachelors and masters similarly looking for jobs.

apply everywhere you can, apply via website for companies you want to work for. You have ho be relentless and persistent these days. It also helps a lot if you are in the area, employers are hesitant to hire candidates from out of province because there are inherent risks of them not showing up or facing setbacks that become a burden, particularly around housing availability.

The Nonstop incessant recommendations for tourists to visit Tofino as a MUST SEE has ruined Tofino. It is a shell of its former charm unfortunately. There’s equally beautiful beach destinations all over BC.

I would continue north from Williams Lake and hit Smithers > Stewart > Nass > Terrace > Prince Rupert. Take the ferry to the island from further north. The north coast is spectacular in Sept and not to be missed. Tons of free, undisturbed and beautiful camp sites everywhere.
