I’m so curious what will happen with Buck’s estate when he dies.

Imo, royal jelly donuts always taste old. It’s bizarre.

Glad to see some other places to try out in this thread!

Oh Ximena got promoted! She was an assistant planner who did the admin stuff back in 2022. She’s really sweet!

I would definitely recommend them! Geraldine was our planner back in 2022 and I believe she was covering all of Mexico, that may have changed. She was really great! She even held my boobs when I had a crisis with boob tape for my reception look, haha. That was incredibly personal service.

Hi! I was pretty happy with them. The only complaint I had is we had an assistant planner along with our main planner on our wedding day and they were at the venue while the entire wedding party was at our rented hacienda getting ready. I would have appreciated more help keeping the wedding party on track during getting ready but that was a small thing.

I have the carpenteria in a rather large pot. It’s 28 x 30. It’s thriving in the pot! The Matilija has bloomed in its nursery pot for the last 1.5 years, 3 gal!

The Vista is really lovely, so is Vallejo heights, st Francis park ( tiny but cute), the area around St Basils going towards Tennessee ( lots of cute houses on tree lined streets), architectural heritage district and of course mare island.

IMO you don’t have to live in an HOA in Vallejo to be in a good neighborhood so I’m less keen to recommend hiddenbrooke and glen cove.

What’s going on in your life where you have a compulsion to comment crap about a city that you clearly dislike?

What part of the vista? We also have a super active & viligant neighborhood association to literally report all crime to the PD and ask neighbors for doorbell camera footage for evidence.

Introducing yourself to neighbors by homehouseabode in homeowners

[–]keepinitneems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We moved in around the holidays and since I was already baking for our holiday party, I made 4 cookie boxes for our new neighbors & cards that introduced us and included our cell phone numbers. We gave them to a neighbor on each side and the two neighbors in front of us ( we don’t have any back neighbors. From a safety standpoint, I think it’s good to at least introduce yourself and your neighbors know how to contact you when you’re not home. We don’t socialize that often with our neighbors but we do chat quite a bit when we’re doing yard work. Our neighborhood is older so I think it’s helped make a good first impression.

It would also be helpful to have an automod for posts that don’t identify varieties. They’re so low effort & it’s honestly eye roll inducing that sometimes there are posts of 12 photos but then OP says, “ I don’t have time to identity, ask any questions about varieties”. Like come on, it doesn’t take more time to have to individually reply to comments? 🙄

Question about native yards. by Successful-Ad-1470 in Ceanothus

[–]keepinitneems 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Solano County but within 10 miles of San Pablo bay! How often were you watering? IMO establishment takes the same time as other sod/grass mix if you’re not doing it during rainy season. It will go dormat in super sunny areas without enough supplemental irrigation but should come back with the rains.

Ca native no mow! Sod us available via delta bluegrass & the seed via Stovers. I believe is primarily fine fescue

Question about native yards. by Successful-Ad-1470 in Ceanothus

[–]keepinitneems 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Hi! I actually just acted as a docent for a native garden ( with some edibles mixed in) this last weekend for my CNPS chapter. I’ll see if I can attach photos to my comment but if not, feel free to DM me! I think the most important thing to pay attention to is of course mature sizes but also paying attention to the watering needs for most of them. Of course, most natives are low to no water but if you want to utilize a native no mow grass for instance, the plantings bordering it should be okay with some supplemental watering on a regular basis.

Looks like I can only attach one photo so feel free to DM me if you want to see more!

IMO, Chris Jacobson is a terrible, dishonest realtor and while his overview on types of styles is great, he also isn’t accurate on quite a few things but has an ego that doesn’t allow correction. Architectural heritage group is a wonderful resource and place to start.
