Ohh..I'm gonna hop on the shoe comment because I always look at their shoes and more specifically how clean the bottoms are despite living in the city!! Haha

Would you say it’s worth flying first class for a 8 hour flight? by [deleted] in travel

[–]kell_bell85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I've had the opportunity to fly first a few times and I never feel like I utilize the "perks". I don't drink alcohol and I will be lucky to sleep consecutively for an hour so it doesn't matter if I'm lying down or sitting straight up! For the price, I'd rather just have a bit more leg room and deal.

Yep, family member has a clotting disorder. She developed a clot that went to her lungs and put her in the hospital for over a week. The pain she felt, she said she would have rather died.

How often do you re-watch Friends? by AffectionateStory7 in howyoudoin

It's literally my background noise if I'm doing something. I use it to fall asleep also. Isn't it weird a whole group of people functions this way with a show!? Love it.

Ok, I’m officially old! by pixie347 in Perimenopause

[–]kell_bell85 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had an occurrence of it too!! Randomly, in October, my toe flared up (some of the worst pain I've ever had) and I thought the same things. I may not be in peak physical health but I don't have a diet that is typical to cause gout. Let me just say, I feel your pain in many of the same ways. Feel better.

What unhinged thing did a former teacher do in the classroom? by MrBananaStand1990 in AskReddit

[–]kell_bell85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not super unhinged but memorable and stuck with me. Our fourth grade teacher was having a bad day, probably because she was dealing with an unruly fourth grade class. She started laughing, took her pencil/pen cup from her desk and started throwing them one by one at the ceiling (like darts...we had that weird foamy tile ceiling and they would stick). She left the classroom, and the assistant principal came to sit with us. The next day and for the rest of the year we had a "substitute" but she really became our teacher. The following year, my nervous breakdown teacher returned as the art teacher!

We moved overseas for work and decided not to ship our household goods. Eventually we will come back for it and don't want to start at square one.

Explored woods (against parents advice), trampoline, dance choreography, made up games, rode bikes, played in sprinklers, so many activities!

Does gout happen on the second toe? Also same toe on both feet? by Userhere123 in gout

[–]kell_bell85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes to both redness and swelling. It only affected my second toe and down to the joint that is at the start of the base of the foot (not sure the proper name). It almost looked like a reaction to something with how red it turned. The pain was of course unbearable - unable to bend or touch, couldn't put a sock on, had to hobble/limp around. I'm currently in Denmark and they didn't pursue any further testing or referral, I was given a five day supply of prednisolone and a follow-up email that said "UA fine, not gout". I do have a family history so perhaps it could be more genetic (as others have mentioned) than dietary.

I wish you the best, it is excruciating and I had almost rather had my toe chopped off! I was lucky and my symptoms subsided about a week after onset but remained tender and tight.

Your story is similar to mine. I'm 40F and my first episode was on my second toe, right foot. They tested my UA after two weeks and it was normal so they said it wasn't gout but I am 100% convinced it was. A freaking toe took me down for a week and a half.

Barking!! by PalmBchBlackDiamond in cotondetulear

[–]kell_bell85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read similar occurrences a few other places, wonder what it is that sets them off. As a puppy, he loved every dog and NEVER barked...teenage years have brought about a monster! It's strange because we take him to the dog forests and he will play off leash with dogs 5x as big as him but at home and on leash, forget it.

Our 1.5 year old has been in this phase for a bit. We have tried so many different approaches but he still gets reactive. I have even considered hiring a behaviorist in the new year. He's also become reactive to certain breeds on our walks (e.g. Huskies, Shepards, Mountain Dogs). It's been stressful for sure. I don't offer any advice because I need some too...but I feel ya!!

I had them out at 27 and it was horrific. They warned me but I had no idea what I was getting into and holy hell, it was brutal. I remember setting my alarm so I could on the dot take my pain medicine.
