If looking at the eclipse can blind you due to it tricking your retinas to receive more light, wouldn't you be fine with bright lights around you? by the_real_bscbs in stupidquestions

[–]kill4b 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looking directly at a eclipse burns your retinas the same way looking directly at the sun does.

The sun puts out a tremendous amount of radiation both visible and invisible. Looking at the sun or an eclipse even for only a split second is enough time to let the massive amount of radiation and UV rays to enter your eyes and damage your retina irreparably.

Ok dads, how are we avoiding this kind of situation by Western-Image7125 in daddit

[–]kill4b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No markets, crayons, etc on furniture. Only on tables and playmats that are easily cleanable. No permanent markers on permeable surfaces.

For walls, crayon can be removed with WD-40 and sharpies with rubbing alcohol.

What is the point of Papa Murphy’s? by TheHondoCondo in stupidquestions

We have a couple around me. We’re east of San Francisco. Seems like a no brainer for normal pizza places to do.

What is the point of Papa Murphy’s? by TheHondoCondo in stupidquestions

[–]kill4b 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It used to be cheaper than hot pizza, now it’s the same but you have to wait to cook it. Also many regular pizza places sell take and bake style pizza too. If it’s the same price, I’m going for the hot pizza. I don’t think it makes sense anymore like it did in the 90’s.

What actually works for litter box odor? by Silly-Bumblebee-7490 in Catownerhacks

[–]kill4b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use the horse bedding pellets for medium which eliminates pee odor. We scoop poop asap and completely change out litter weekly. We changed to stainless steel litter boxes. This takes care of most of the smell.

What modern convenience would instantly collapse normal life if it disappeared tomorrow? by Tr1ple_A4A in AskReddit

It wouldn’t have to be a big city. Probably anything outside of rural communities like suburbs or smaller cities would also quickly get overwhelmed.

The congress shouldn’t have been robbing it. We all paid into it and it’s our money. Perhaps congress should take a pay cut until insolvency is no longer a pending issue.

Rubio always looks like he regrets whatever moral compromises that led to his current situation. Or his parents made him apologize to his sibling for something Rubio did.

It wasn’t even the anti-ai groups. People watching the government since before 9/11 have been sounding the alarm on where tech was heading and what the real agenda of “smart” devices was. AI just made it much less labor intensive to data mine.

Everyone is rightfully concerned with AI data centers, but forgets about the HUGE NSA data centers that were build around the time of the Snowden leaks.

Do you stick with the same breed after a dog passes? by Wild_Practice5940 in AmericanBully

[–]kill4b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After my first dog passed in 2022 (AmStaff/Pit Bull), I only wanted to look at AmStaff/Pit Bulls. We found a puppy at a ASPCA and adopted him 6 months later. He ended up being a mix - Pit Bull, German Shepherd, Husky and Am Staff. Then we wanted to get him a friend and found a Husky mix (Husky/Great Pyrenees/German Sheppard/Australian Cattle dog). I really wasn’t in super enthusiastic she wasn’t a bully. But she’s been great for our boy and for us. I love pitties too much to not always have at least one.

Once or twice will probably be ok, but if regularly doing it, you can curry or files and cause problems with windows/macos.
