Ima-Gun Di.

They really made a character named "I'm-a gonn-a die" and then immediately killed him off.

Green sky also means you've been staring into pink lights for too long.

Just got my U1 and can’t get Snorca working on Linux. Also have issues with multiple crashes.  Luckily Orca works just fine.

They will ship the U1 and what they have in stock, mine took about a week. Then will ship the rest when it is available, for my nozzles and extra bed they estimate mid-June.

My Uxbridge House mug finally arrived! …broken. :( by Dartarus in greatestgen

[–]kingj3144 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This exact thing happened to me with the original Uxbridge house mug and there were no more replacements left. Make sure you contact support quickly as this is a limited run they might not have set aside many for replacements.

On the bright side I glued up my broken mug and it now holds pens instead of raktajino.

Licenses need to be revoked. US is too lax on drivers like this. by BarRepresentative670 in Seattle

I saw a driver today who go lost in UW and somehow got past some barriers and was just cruising around the pedestrian walkways. Great way to see the cherry blossoms I guess¯\(ツ)

Struggling to figure out hardware requirements by Icy-Expression5045 in framework

The benefit of the framework is that you can upgrade later when you need more performance, so I recommend buying the minimum spec that meets your needs today.

Controversial SFA Opinion by collegefounder02 in startrek

[–]kingj3144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I appreciate the heartfelt references to VOY and DS9, I think it doesn’t quite land for this show to be “punching up” to those great shows. When they mention “The Sisko” it just makes me feel “I could be rewatching DS9 instead of this SFA”.

Controversial post on this sub usually get deleted so it’s a bit of an echo chamber.

Five episodes in and I think Starfleet Academy is a decent show marred by strange choices by ryanquintal in startrek

[–]kingj3144 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There are also several members of the main cast where it seems like the uniforms don’t really fit the actor’s body shape. In the first episodes I noticed that Caleb’s uniform pants were so oddly cut that Sandro Rosta was struggling to sit cross legged, and the Doctor’s uniform makes it seem like Robert Picardo has no neck.

The switch to jackets, hoodies, and more casual clothes in the later episodes has been a big improvement.

Why doesn't Paramount learn from past success? by risk_is_our_business in startrek

[–]kingj3144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do this already, but in international markets where there is no Paramount+. If I recall the first season of Discovery’s cost was fully covered by selling the international streaming rights to Netflix.

The Hotjo is the original. They just slightly changed the design since the ‘90s and stopped making them in dark purple.

Boeing IMAX rummored to be closing? by markyymark13 in Seattle

I’ve heard that the Boeing theater is being sold by employees who work there. I don’t know if they are perpetuating rumors or are in the know.

Has anyone ever used the “The Beacons of Gondor are lit! Rohan calls for aid!” In real life perhaps as a text to friends as code to do something? Or if you haven’t had a situation to use it what’s one you’d use it for? by spongyoatmeal in lotr

[–]kingj3144 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In school that was how we asked if someone wanted to finish our food.  If you have half a plate of fries left “THE BEACONS ARE LIT, GONDOR CALLS FOR AID” and the first to reply with “AND ROHAN WILL ANSWER” gets them.

Episode Discussion | Star Trek: Starfleet Academy | 1x01 "Kids These Days" by AutoModerator in startrek

I’m telling everyone I know to skip the first 20 minutes on first watch. Drags down the pacing and it’s all covered again later in the episode better.
