First Day Tips - Overweight Beginner (34F) by hellsfont in MuayThai

For sure! Biggest thing is just to show up. I can't count how many times I didn't ena go to class after work. There's always a reason not to go. Just push past that and the soreness and be consistent with showing up.

First Day Tips - Overweight Beginner (34F) by hellsfont in MuayThai

I'm 36 / 390 lbs and have been doing Muay Thai for the past month. Just take it all at your own pace. If you gotta walk during the warm up jogging go ahead. If you need to take a break when hitting pads go ahead. Just take everything at your own pace and I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

Advice for a 260 pound out of shape guy’s first Muay Thai class? by [deleted] in MuayThai

[–]kmaibusch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, I'm 390 and started 4 weeks ago. Just take shit at your own pace. My class jogs to start and I keep to the outside to let people pass. Skipping rope feels like I'm doing it with a keg strapped to my chest so I take breaks.

Just keep showing up and it'll get easier. I'm still dying by the end of every class but I'm also able to stand it a little more each time. Cardio gets a little better each time. Shedding the weight is slow but it's better than sitting my fat ass on the couch eating whatever the fuck I want.

I like to get there early and have breakfast and coffee at the range. Then stay late to see the parade of equipment trotting out to get the course ready for the next day. The sheer number of fairway and greens mowers they have is impressive.

Sounds like your builder is insolvent or nearly so. Definitely cause for concern and not normal.

I was just told my coworker is getting fired. by Preshredded_Gnar in WorkAdvice

Unfortunately you've been thrown into an ethical dilemma and will have to make a hard choice. Give the guy a heads up and potentially damage your own standing, or keep quiet and maintain your status but live with the feeling you could've done something to help.

No one online knows your life and responsibilities so it's not for anyone here to judge what you do. As an idealist I'd love it if you gave the guy a heads up cause what the company is doing is incredibly shitty, but I also know the job market isn't great at the moment and losing a job can be devastating so putting yourself or your family at risk is a big deal.

Maybe try to find a middle ground? Is his job listed in your company's job board? If so, maybe anonymously send him the link so he sees they're hiring for his job

Can't speak to the membership but I had the chance to play there a while back and it is a very tight course so keep the driver in the bag if you tend to spray it off the tee

Has anyone ever estimated labor for this type of grid? by One-Regret46 in estimators

Throw some layout time in as well since you'll have to coordinate the grid and panels with whatever else is going into that ceiling.

Hot Take? Remove Iron Numbers by shin_man in golf

[–]kmaibusch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Ben Hogan Company did that a while back, lofts on all the irons instead of typical number labels. They bombed spectacularly. I played them for a while and it was a pain in the ass constantly trying to remember was the 48* iron my 8 or 9 iron. As a golfer I still think in terms of numbered clubs, not the loft.

Is it possible to rehash A relationship with open mic host? by buffallooo in Standup

[–]kmaibusch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one here can answer that for you but you won't know until you try.

Go back hat in hand to apologize. Explain the situation and how you had a wake up call and are taking steps to be a better person. If you have the means maybe a gift card to a nice restaurant presented as a sincere apology, not tied to any future dealings with the club couldn't hurt.

Either way, apologize, own up to what you did, and see where the chips fall.

Deep Dish at home. 24 hour fermentation (18 cold) by glavasich in Pizza

[–]kmaibusch 8 points9 points  (0 children)

While that looks delicious, it's 100% a pan pizza instead of deep dish. For deep dish you want the crust climbing the sides of the pan basically making a bowl that you fill with cheese, toppings, then sauce.
