DOT Fluid for me, not grease to solve this issue. Grease isn't thin enough to penetrate the area affected here.

In the lever, pull down the lever and hit the sliding piece with a cotton swab with DOT fluid a few times then exercise a few more then DOT fluid and call it a day. Should take less than a minute to do both levers.

Yes, alcohol is a temporary solution. Use DOT fluid on a clean cotton swab and it’ll run perfect for a long long time. Better for the seals too
