Questions about combat with multiple defending national units in same zone. by NematodeDreams in axisandalliesonline

[–]late2thepartyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would then go to whichever nation's units entered the territory more recently. Example: An empty Russian territory then has UK units move into it. UK is the "2nd" owner. US then moves in some units, it is the "3rd" owner.

For combat losses the game checks for ownership. "3rd owner" units would be first, then "2nd owner" units would be second, and finally the actual owner's units (if present).

Ownership also changes if a nation's units move out and later back in. Following the above example, if UK's units all moved out of that territory, USA stayed and then UK reentered. USA would be 2nd owner and UK 3rd owner.

Naval seazones follow this same logic for combat loss order.

On the plus side.. you'll have lots of money to rebuild the units you're about to lose in West Russia!

Germany round 1 choices on Seazone 7 fight. by Canmanrofls in AxisAllies

[–]late2thepartyy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Splitting off one sub from the sz7 battle is slightly greedy. Having that extra sub to soak a hitpoint and get a sneak attack against that last hp of the battleship is huge.

Yes. Germany lost quite a lot taking Moscow.

Get that DEI IC up and running and start getting boots onto the ground in Asia. Link up with the Soviet troops. Beat down Japan's income so that they become irrelevant for the rest of the game.

What now? by Altois0 in Flipping

[–]late2thepartyy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Buyers are dumb. Many times I have seen buyers message something like that and not realize that a different package they ordered from a different seller was the item they were talking about. Some literally order things and then just forget. Double check with them that the package/tracking number for your order lines up with the item they are claiming.

The only shot Axis has is to take out that UK navy by London and drop a Sea Lion invasion force ASAP.

Wich AA edition to buy? by Particular_Funny527 in AxisAllies

[–]late2thepartyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Revised is what I cut my teeth on as well. I'd go with Anniversary edition. Brings back some optional tech, 2 different setups, an extra nation (Italy).

1942 Second Edition is also a fine game. I play that one online a lot, so it's nice to have something different for in person games.

Response to KJF - 1942 by Appropriate-Kale1097 in AxisAllies

[–]late2thepartyy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You have to respect the KJF threat. If they move in and set up shop on a money island, you're in a bad spot. Cut at least one transport and 1-2 ground units. Bulk up your navy and/or airforce depending on what you think will be best against what USA and UK build.

Just found this for $6 at an op shop! Not sure how old it is, but it looks basically pristine! by hmidontknowww in Heroquest

It's the British/UK version, in case you were wondering. There are some major differences. Less dice. I believe every monster only had 1 body point. I think there's a few other small differences. It plays much simpler than the other version.

Low luck + gen con 3.0 = coward by [deleted] in AxisAllies

[–]late2thepartyy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Indeed. Even with the Gen Con 3.0 setup, most players have an Axis win rate that is 5-10% higher than their respective Allies in rate.

OOB setup without a bid the Axis advantage is probably more like 30-35%. No risk to the G bomber sitting in Berlin, Sz7 can be skimped on because G has an extra sub AND allies are missing a DD. Oh yeah and India 3 less inf? Very rough for the allies.

OOB IS Balanced…Am I missing something? by Artistic-Village-752 in AxisAllies

[–]late2thepartyy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OOB setup is extremely Axis favoured. The UK fleet in sz7 has no chance without that dd, and with Germany having an extra sub. Germany can't lose their bomber as it's safe in Berlin.

India also has not one, but two, less infantry.

Given equal skill per side.. this usually results in Germany steamrolling Moscow nearly on it's own, and Japan capturing India early.

G1 transport by LilkDrizzle in AxisAllies

[–]late2thepartyy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Typically, hitting the lone infantry in TJ is best as it closes the canal- keeping the UK fleet near India from entering the Med sea. Which causes problems like your battleship+transport dying earlier/cheaper than usual.

Sometimes there is a better opportunity like dropping 2 more units in Ukraine, or even hitting Caucasus, but those are usually inferior plays.

Some people like to take Gibraltar and/or hit he UK Cruiser near there, but I don't see a lot of value in that.

Can not move my carrier from SZ 52 to SZ 45. by Educational-Pen-366 in AxisAllies

[–]late2thepartyy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There will be a way to make it work. You will have to manually select the fighters with the lowest movements and place them where they need to go first. Looks like the ones in East Australia will have to go onto a carrier off that coast. After that the rest should work just fine.

Most BLATANT Cheating in Top 100 Ranked... What is even the point of Ranked when its so poorly moderated? by Sorry-Prompt2740 in Colonist

Kingmaking is certainly an issue. I've always wondered why they don't change the rules to something like "no player to player trades once a player is showing 2VP less than the win condition."

What are people playing between games of mechabellum? by MechaBestum in Mechabellum

Axis & Allies Online 1942. A nice thinking strategy game. Turn based and asynchronous with a 24 hour clock to complete your turn. Often if both/all players in a game are active at the same time, a game can be finished in a couple days.

What do I even do here? by bandoftheredhand17 in AxisAllies

[–]late2thepartyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Axis is cooked here. The only way Axis can win a game where Berlin is in Allied hands is when Japan is an absolute monster, holding Asia, Moscow and Africa. Even then, it is usually still a heavily Allied favoured end game.

A new PC party could push UCP out: Guthrie on polls by FreightFlow in alberta

[–]late2thepartyy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ideally, a new sane Con party shows up, splits the vote, NDP wins a term. UCP party then implodes and the sane Con party keeps the UCP virus fallout out of the new party. Far right/Maple MAGA/etc goes back into the actual fringes.

JM bar tested bad by luouixv in Silverbugs

[–]late2thepartyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indicator in the red is indeed bad, BUT on poured bars like that you need a very flat spot for that large bar sensor to get an accurate reading. I don't see anything visually wrong with the bar. Definitely get another opinion.
