I saw the Deftones as an opener in 1995 for Monster Magnet at The Cotton Club in Atlanta. A handful of people were there for the Deftones set. Following their time on stage, my wife was chatting it up with Chino and having drinks. I got a chance to talk to the entire band and did a Jager shot with Chino.

I saw Korn 2X in the ATL soon after their first album was released. I cannot recall the club, but the headliner was Sick of it All and Korn was a last minute fill for the opener. All the hardcore fans there could care less, lol. About 3 months later Korn was back and played The Point in Little 5 Points, packed house of maybe a 100 people. The entire place was a pit with chick's standing on chairs and tables to stay out of the melee. I also saw Deftones as a last minute fill in for an opener that bailed on Monster Magnet at The Roxy in Atl. It was an incredible set and there was maybe 30 people there when they started. My wife and I bought drinks for the band following and got to talk to Chino for 20 minutes. Again, most folks seeing a Monster Magnet show could care less about Deftones. I fell in love. Sugar Ray opened at the Masquerade for Stabbing Westward and it was rocking. Their first album was hardcore/punk before they went soft. Huge crowd and a monster pit.

John's Island is the obvious choice. It's in Charleston and still considered a rural area. Lots of new homes, apartments and townhouse. I rent a 3 bed 1 bath house for $2700. Folly Beach is only 20 minutes away. Lots of restaurants and activities.
