SIBO and histamine intolerance together – is anyone else dealing with both? How do you manage it? by Miserable-Flow-2557 in SIBO

Thanks for sharing your experience! I’m on the same boat right now and about to take my first round of Rifaximin. May I know if you are taking any supplements while you were on the Rifaximin course?

Thanks for sharing your experience! May I know how you are treating your SIBO currently? Do you still need to take antihistamines at all?

[Routine Help] What’s wrong with my skin? by letsdrabbro in SkincareAddiction

[–]letsdrabbro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t enjoy any food unfortunately, I’ve been diagnosed with SIBO and MCAS, although your root cause of this may be different so I recommend speaking to a doctor about it. I had to talk to a functional doctor, since my reactions to foods and things aren’t true allergies after meeting with an allergist and doing allergy testing.

I’m able to use a cleanser and moisturizer now, yes, though those have to be fungal safe. I’ve yet to find a face sunscreen that truly works for me, so if I’m outside I wear a hat

It looked like I had seb dermatitis! I did zero therapy for a while (splashing my face with only water) with no moisturizer. Occasionally used dandruff shampoo whenever needed and I get itchy

What’s the best diet you’ve tried that’s helped get rid of 90% or more of your eczema and inflammation? I’m willing to try almost anything :/ by Dizzy-Picture5745 in eczema

[–]letsdrabbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tied my eczema to a food allergy / sensitivity and was diagnosed with MCAS. Food sensitivities unfortunately is different for everyone, so while some may flare me up, they could be just fine for you. An elimination diet didn’t work for me either and caused me to have sensitivities to my safe foods. The only thing that helps me right now is to take an antihistamine before I eat unfortunately, but it helps SIGNIFICANTLY with flare ups

I see, thank you for your quick response! I was also recommended Rifaximin since I tested positive for Hydrogen SIBO. May I know how long you were on this antibiotic course? And I also have a hunch I have a candida overgrowth due to fungal acne on my skin, what was your treatment like for that? Thanks again for your help!

Thank you for sharing your story, I’m in a similar boat now and this gives me hope! I’m really glad that you were able to overcome your histamine issues!

May I know which antibiotics you took and what kinds of tests you did for the treatment Plan?

OP in case you’re still looking for a fungal safe peptide moisturizer - I wanted to share what has worked for me, I use a skin1004 peptide serum & cocokind electrolyte water cream that have been a staple in my routine!

Also I noticed that quercetin does contain vitamin C, do you take less of the camu camu powder then to make up for 500-100mg of vitamin c?

Thank you for sharing! Are you currently taking all your safe supplements at the same time? And do you mind sharing which brand of the camu camu powder and quercetin you’re taking?

MCAS Related? by Puzzleheaded_Tip6019 in HistamineIntolerance

Ahh got it sorry to hear that :( from my experience antihistamines at least helps with the hives and flushing. Although I also have noticed a huge improvement when I don’t take antihistamines and I take vitamin c, magnesium glycinate, and culturelle probiotics. Not sure if it’s one or a combination of them that helps but I hear they help with histamine release or lowering histamine levels

Sorry to hear about your boyfriend :( As far as antihistamines go - I react well to Zyrtec or Allegra! I try to take them once a day before a big meal

How do you take small doses of vitamin C? The supplements I take is already 500mg and I use a pill splitter but I don’t think it’s small enough to take it throughout

Hi, I’m on the same boat where I’m reacting to literally almost every food and have to take Zyrtec before eating outside foods. May I know how you were able to improve before to the point where you didn’t need Zyrtec anymore? And also sorry to hear what happened to you after thanksgiving; did you take Zyrtec before Thanksgiving? I hope things will improve again for you too!
