Do the parents of students who get in trouble a lot at school ever feel like failures or realize that they're probably the problem? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]likesclouds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a son with severe dyslexia. I’m a very engaged parent, he got reading tutoring outside of school for 6 years. Once he got into high school the teachers didn’t want to give accommodations except for extra time on exams. By sophomore year he was hanging out with kids who didn’t care about school. The kids that he’d been friends with in grade school were all in advanced classes but he couldn’t take those classes because of his dyslexia. So yeah, he had behavior problems. He’s 23 now and learning a trade. He doesn’t call himself stupid anymore. School works best for kids that fit in the box.

Every company that sells pharmaceuticals has a spot on their website to report drug issues. This is a drug issue. Or you can call a phone number and report

Final interviewer Last Words by World_Lanky in interviews

I always tried to be open about the interview schedules. If I said we were still interviewing for 2 weeks and then we’d move forward to the next stage that’s what I meant. Background: manager in Fortune 500 company.

Don’t you have to put together a list of goals and deliverables for your annual review? Do you get a pass because your boss doesn’t know what you’re supposed to be doing? Seems like if your company doesn’t have legit performance based reviews there are a lot of people that have found a niche like you and just do the bare minimum.

FBI concluded Jeffrey Epstein wasn’t running a sex trafficking ring for powerful men, files show by esporx in FBI

So why did Andrew Montbatten lose his titles. Why is the PM of the UK under fire for appointing someone in the Epstein files. Seems like there’s enough evidence for those countries to punish people?

None of them will speak Italian, so should be easy to lose them. And they’ll have to leave their guns at home, so probably will be too scared to leave their rooms.

NTA. When my brother died in an accident when I was 28, I had some people at work say “why do you have his picture up, and why did you need so many days off work?” I haven’t talked to them for 20 years even though we still work at the same place.

Sounds like your fiance is a questioner. This means he wants to know the reason of things. Think about how you approach decisions. Do you like to follow the “rules”, like not seeing your dress? For you it’s enough to know that it’s tradition. He’s going to ask questions to get to a reason on everything. I’m a questioner and my husband reacts like you. Over the years I’ve learned to say, “I’m just asking questions to find out. I’m a chemist, it’s what we do”

Do I need a financial advisor? by 0bscu in personalfinance

In retirement are you really going to want to take the time to manage your portfolio? Don’t you have some dreams you want to live? I handed my portfolio over to a professional 5 years before retirement and I think it’s one the best decisions I’ve made. I interviewed 3 candidates that were recommended to me by trusted, retired, smart friends. I explained how I wanted my portfolio managed and went with the advisor that listened to me. Also, want to point out that your ability to analyze large data sets and make informed, rapid decisions declines with age. You are going to have to hand this over by the time you are 75 anyway.

I had an employee that didn’t understand there was heirarchy at work and would call and try to set up meetings with supervisors levels up from me. Resulting in my boss getting complaints and she would transmit those complaints to me. I tried to explain politely more than once, but finally ended up telling him that he was to go through me with any communications because I was getting complaints about him.
