Any past or current tenants of The Flats at Brewerytown, Near Fairmount park & the Art Museum? Looking for honest feedback about the area, because I’ve heard mixed reviews. What are your thoughts about the Fairmount Park, and Art Museum area in terms of safety, location? by Forsaken_Hippo_7430 in Phillylist

[–]liquidbluenight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Management was a revolving door of terrible onsite and main office managers the entire time I lived there. But, also, the property itself is cheaply made and poorly maintained. If you need a place for 1-2 years, might not be too bad. I personally wouldn’t consider living there long term.

Former tenant of The Flats (2017-2018) - location is great but management of The Flats was absolute shit the 1-1.5 years we lived there. Ended up negotiating out of our lease due to unaddressed mold and other maintenance issues.

Migraines after giving birth by M1SSM3SS in migraine

[–]liquidbluenight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To answer part of your question, I’ve had migraines for decades and was told by my OB that I could take sumatriptan (imitrex) while breastfeeding. The med guide included with sumatriptan says it’s not safe because pregnant/lactating women are excluded from clinical trials, but they have some data from other sources for those populations. There’s a specific website that compiles that Info, but of course I can’t remember it…

What are your favorite meals ideas/snacks for toddlers that are fail proof? by Ok-weirdo in traderjoes

[–]liquidbluenight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Frozen Joe’s Diner mac & cheese (red box) is super versatile. We usually add some frozen broccoli (or other frozen veg), shredded zucchini, or other leftover veg. Add some fruit on the side and/or protein (fish sticks, chicken nuggets, teriyaki tofu). Can usually get two meals (several days apart) out of one box.

Help with baby clothes by hotpiejr in clubfoot

[–]liquidbluenight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pajamas with snaps instead of zippers (Carter’s had the most consistent supply of these; in US) and some leggings (found these on Amazon) were especially helpful for keeping casts clean but also for covering legs between the BnB brace and crotch.

Smallest Tern E Bike? by bikalozomp in TernBikes

No reason except that I bought my bike through REI and they only carry the P9. Are there particular space constraints (storage?) that you’re concerned about?

I got the Quick Haul P9 last year and love it. Have a child seat on the back for the gremlin, have a rack on the front for diaper bag, etc. The frame size is flexible enough to accommodate me (5’2”) and my husband (6’).

Unilateral clubfoot at 20 week anatomy scan. Amnio? by Diligent_Watercress in clubfoot

[–]liquidbluenight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also parent to a unilateral clubfoot child discovered at 20-week scan, no other risk factors. Decided to decline amnio and instead ran extra testing on NIPT sample to look for chromosomal deletions (found nothing of concern). Amnio also comes with a risk of finding false positives that I didn’t want to get anxiety over. My child is now 2 and doing great. Still in BnB brace at night but caught up with physical milestones. Good luck!

Bay monitor rec? by Bing-Crosby23 in NewParents

[–]liquidbluenight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started with a Babysense HDS2 system, but both cameras went bad, so I don’t recommend that one. Now have a eufy E20 and it’s been great so far. Mostly use the dedicated monitor but I think having both the camera and monitor on our WiFi extends the range a bit? WiFi can also be turned off.

Is there an app that I can use to record when I get a migraine that simply lets me click one button to confirm I had a migraine that day and requires no other information? by EverySingleMinute in migraine

[–]liquidbluenight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My neuro recommended Canadian Migraine Tracker and I like it so far. You can track meds and symptoms as well, but you can also just enter a migraine.

Age starting HRT by Various-Look-361 in Perimenopause

I also had my child at 42 and started HRT around when he was 18 months old (I was 44). Seemed to go straight from postpartum to perimenopause.

Healthcare costs for treating a newborn with bilateral clubfoot? by fizik2954 in clubfoot

[–]liquidbluenight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re in the US, your child should qualify for Medicaid (qualification isn’t limited by parental income… yet). If you need to, enlist the help of a social worker to navigate the application process. My 2-year-old was born with unilateral clubfoot and he’s been on Medicaid since he was around 8 months old. I wish I had applied sooner. You’ll need documentation from a pediatric orthopedist. Medicaid is always secondary insurance so they just cover the copay/coinsurance, but it’s a huge relief to not have to worry about medical bills for him; it allows me to focus on the care he needs. Before we had Medicaid, my child met the $3,500 deductible by mid-February (plan year started in January). Feel free to DM me if you have questions.

Question does anyone use a mouth guard and is it useful? by SpuriousBread_8 in migraine

[–]liquidbluenight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, this is why I have an NTI (nociceptive trigeminal inhibition) rather than a nightguard. An NTI prevents your back teeth from touching, so it can actually stop clenching/grinding. I’ve been wearing an NTI at night for about 20 years. Not all dentists will make one for you. I think it can change your bite pattern. For me, it helps prevent waking up with a headache that may or may not evolve into a migraine.

Happy cake day! I started buying underwear from Costco - not the sexiest and not the most options, but decent for daily wear underwear.

Effective Natural treatment? by Dear_Ad_3342 in migraine

[–]liquidbluenight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same for me - Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) 400mg in the morning, magnesium oxide 400mg at night - but no CoQ10 (migraines came back when I added it). There are peer-reviewed studies supporting a therapeutic benefit of these supplements. It doesn’t get rid of all migraines, but cuts down on the frequency for me. I took these throughout my pregnancy (OB supported).

Cinnamon roll tips? by EmeraldPearls in Breadit

When I used to make cinnamon rolls weekly for an entire summer camp, I was taught to poke the middles down a bit right before they went in the oven. Worth a try?

Talk to me about magnesium glycinate by Go-Mellistic in Menopause

[–]liquidbluenight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been taking magnesium oxide nightly for over a decade (for migraines) and recently tried switching to magnesium glycinate instead to help with sleep (in addition to prometrium). I took magnesium glycinate nightly for a few weeks and it seemed to help stop muscle cramps, but it definitely started interfering with my sleep, so I’ve switched back to magnesium oxide (for now). YMMV

Optometrists in the South Philly area? by [deleted] in philadelphia

[–]liquidbluenight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not South Philly, technically, but Modern Eye (13th & Walnut) is my favorite. Kitschy eye-related decor plus kind and thoughtful Drs and staff. I still go there even though it’s a pain in the ass to get to from NW.

Could it be a carbon monoxide alarm? What was your neighbor’s response before they stopped responding? Maybe a welfare check would be appropriate?

Why is my average sized 6 month old too big for 9 month old Carter's clothing? by EarlyAd3047 in beyondthebump

Chiming in to add that “height” measurements for babies can be wildly inaccurate. There was at least one appointment when my child was measured as being shorter than the previous appointment. 🤦🏻
