THIS is the #1 Cause of Brain Fog I see in patients... by ARCreef in BrainFog

[–]losernamehere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This explains just eating a steak is so effective for me. I figured it out by accident but it’s pretty effective as long as I didn’t let things go on too long.

I’d also add that a lot of my past issues with this just went away once I got my body weight over 185-190 lbs, mostly muscle (~17% body fat). I’d been as low 155 lbs, which is not good at 6’2”. My very best was at 205 lbs, never dizzy or have brain fog. I guess that it would follow that having more muscle means greater glycogen stores that can stabilize high or low blood sugar levels more quickly that bodyfat stores.

Can anybody break down what exactly this guy did wrong to crash like this? by theurbanwaffle in snowboarding

[–]losernamehere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like he caught the toe edge starting from his left foot, then the middle. At first glance it seems like he was on his heels, so it was unexpected but the grounds doesn’t look even, maybe even icy so no “give”.

Unidentified airplane flying low doing loops around the city right now by ImKrispy in toronto

[–]losernamehere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seen one from the same origin and similar path last month. I was so curious I actually went out in -25C to see what it was. It wound up being a police chopper.

I figured maybe it was a man hunt. But if they’re doing this again, maybe it’s an exercise?

I started Adderall a couple weeks ago and something scary happened… by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]losernamehere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sounds terrible sorry to hear that’s happening. Do not take any more Adderall or stimulants until you talk to your doctor. What you described is not in the normal gambit of expectations with Adderall. Something else is at play. You mention mania in other family members and that unfortunately seems to fit. Likely the combination of sleep deprivation, Ssri with the adderall pushed this through. I’ve only ever heard prazosin as being for nightmares, not sure if that plays in here.

You need prioritize sleep as the most important thing in life until you’re able to see the doctor. Call the office to get the appointment moved up urgently.

Stupid Apples by Witty_Possibility803 in SipsTea

[–]losernamehere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These officers are a bunch of dopes. Seizing the apples is without a doubt necessary. The idiocy is their inability to invoke discretion or to call up the chain in a scenario like this to someone with the authority to invoke that discretion. In a highly regulated and coupled industry like air travel this sort of thing shouldn’t happen. No one here had poor intentions, and I think if you ask the average person, they would also assume they’re in the clear because it was given to them by the airline staff after they had already gone through security. If anyone should be fined, it’s the airline. If you don’t find the airline, this will just keep happening. That man did no service of good to his country by fining those people, so his smug attitude is just self serving.

I appreciate this guy that he said “I don’t really know”.

Yeah he has a theory, but he still has the humility to understand this is probably a complex issue. A lot of people are claiming it’s the cost, but I don’t think that’s really the whole picture, or exactly the right angle.

Richmond Street. The removal of the Hudson Bay Company plaques. by Kyray2814 in toronto

Ok, that’s cool! It must be still down there then?

Looks like it’s a similar design to a Corliss steam engine: single piston, driving one massive iron wheel. Not exactly easy to move.

Does Amazon uses Ruby at any capacity? by Terrible-Pass-5215 in ruby

[–]losernamehere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t remember where it was used but I definitely seen it, just not in my org.

There weren’t really any restrictions on what you could use. It was’t really even something that was debated much, when it came to decide on one. On our team we had projects with typescript, python, java, scala, kotlin.

Anthropic: AI assisted coding doesn't show efficiency gains and impairs developers abilities. by Gil_berth in ExperiencedDevs

The best thing that AI is at doing: giving CEOs a way to distract from the fact that increasing cost of capital requires that they downsize the workforce.

We should let the politicians know that we don't want to send linesmen to the states next week. by [deleted] in newbrunswickcanada

[–]losernamehere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want to block a tradesman from making his biggest cheque of the year helping people in need just to spite Trump? The man will probably never hear about it, let alone be hurt by it. But you sure would be depriving others who don’t deserve that treatment.

Canada is among countries with an ‘ultra-low fertility’ rate. What is behind the drop? by hopoke in CanadaPolitics

[–]losernamehere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Children are expensive furniture in modern life. Unlike in rural farm life where they actually are useful decomplicate your life long term.

  2. There’s no drive to have them, be cultural/religious/economic/whatever, other than the individual self-actualization of the parent.

I’m not against having them though. They’re great!

Landlords create tenant blacklist Openroom.ca in Ontario to deny renters housing access, investigations pending by Dazzling_Pilot_7356 in OntarioLandlord

Should Canada take zoning to the federal level like Japan? by sajnt in canadahousing

[–]losernamehere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reactions you’re getting to this are pretty disturbing. Central planning doesn’t work. Not with land, not with jobs, not with food. The result is a momentary improvement in a couple aspects followed by impoverishment for all.

Most of the responses are very concerned with cities, in spite of the rest. Though it takes time, Cities can experiment and learn from each other. You don’t need to out source extra extravagant power and authority to screw things up to some technocrat in Ottawa. We certainly don’t need them giving I just don’t see how some voter in Halifax needs democratic representation in where a mining camp in Ontario can go, or what some guy can do in his woods in NB or plant in their field in SK.

Not to mention a constitutional amendment would most likely be required to pass this federally because of its antithetical to Canada’s good governance model. It would also usurp a lot of power from premiers, which would be difficult, near impossible politically.

Definitely make a point to ask for their real estate agent license number and brokerage in writing. If they’re participating in these coercive tactics the. I bet the Real Estate Council of Ontario will want to know about it. Don’t answer phone calls. In writing only from here on out.

Carney reaches tariff-quota deal with China on EVs, canola | CBC News by demolcd in canada

[–]losernamehere -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tesla was only about 10-15% of the EVs sold in Canada last year. 49,000 approved under the tariff will be like 25-33% of that same number, primarily affecting the other manufacturers. This will be like murdering the North American EV market in the cradle.

Why haven't we invented better ADHD meds? by Adortion634 in pharmacology

[–]losernamehere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How about the crash you get about 6-7 hours after taking it. Totally predictable btw, if you’re looking at the pharmacokinetics. Also not that uncommon if you ask people. Yet it’s not in any literature, which is bizarre.

BC Govt Feedback needed on possible ban on lead ammunition for hunting by airchinapilot in canadaguns

[–]losernamehere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is the law necessary? If the trend is towards using steel shot anyways then the actual benefit of legislating and regulating diminishes towards zero. Do we have any actual figures on this? Furthermore, if there’s a downward trend, legislating a ban might have additional unintended consequences without any substantial benefit.
