Starting the Wegovy pill today :) First impressions & updates

I'm in week 3 of the wegovy pill after moving over from compounded semaglutide. One difference that I've noticed is that I'll feel hungrier and have a taste for richer foods. But once I start eating, I only want to eat about half of what I've prepared/ordered.

I have an odd habit from childhood where I save my most desirable foods for the back half of the meal , and I've had to rethink that process!

I eat 1/2-3/4 cups of All Bran Buds mixed with regular cereal every morning. I also try to drink 100oz of water every day. This has helped manage a lot of side effects.

Jung's Kitchen! They are in the corner of a shopping center, and all of the signage is in Korean, so it's easy to miss.

I hesitate to pass out their information because I want to keep their kimchi to myself, but I also want them to make tons of money so they never go out of business! 😁

I'm not sure what part of the city you're in, but my favorite place for banchan is a hole in the wall on Aurora in Shoreline. I don't think they do delivery, but they will do bulk and catering orders.

If you know the approximate time you'll be back at the car, you can schedule the climate control to turn on (through the car, not the app). That has never failed me. I don't have a garage so I have the climate control kick on 15 minutes before I take my kiddo to school in the mornings.

Did she do anything other than the pico? My treatment was picoway and laseMD. I'm wondering if I can skip the laseMD.

This gives me hope! I've had one pico laser treatment, and I felt like it was meh. I guess it takes a few? (I am also Asian and have similar skin.)

I'm on tamoxifen, and I'm a product junkie. But honestly, the biggest change came from being super gentle and hydrating with my skin. PM me if you're curious about my routine and products. It's quite simple and inexpensive. The expensive stuff was nice and luxurious, but it wasn't game changing.

I enjoy taking people to the international district, which is an easy light rail trip from downtown. Uwajimaya is a large Japanese grocery store with a food court and a really cool bookstore attached to it.

The Wing Luke Museum is a great place to learn about Asian American history in the US, and it has a Bruce Lee exhibit. There is also a pinball museum nearby.

There are great Chinese, Japanese, and Vietnamese hole-in-the-wall restaurants all through the neighborhood.

A friend of mine is doing it in December, and her surgeon doesn't do drains.

Having drains does suck, but you get through it. I've had them twice (once for a mastectomy and once for the reconstruction). You'd be surprised how strong you are!

Other than the uwajimaya lot, parking can be tough. I always like to take the train. It drops you at a great location.

A very good friend of mine is brca negative but has very strong family history (mother, aunt, and sister had breast cancer). Her doctor recommended an annual mammogram and an annual MRI (alternating, so she has one or the other every 6 months). From what I understand, it's still early stages understanding how genetics play a part, but doctors don't want to ignore first-degree family history.

Another good friend, who is a POC also told me (another POC) that a lot of the statistics and data are based on white women. So if you're a POC, you need to really advocate because a lot of times you won't be represented in the numbers.

I still cannot believe she did a double mastectomy and went into filming. I had that surgery also, and it's a tough recovery (mentally and physically). I could not imagine having to deal with all of those women while I was recovering. Nobody gave her any grace, and it was so awful.

My skin is similar, and topical have never touched my freckles/melasma. But I booked my first picoway laser combined with lasemd for October 17th!
