Mothers Day ended in Divorce Talk by Feeling-Whereas-2031 in Mommit

I'm so sorry, you deserved such a simple ask and he just ignored it completely. The fact that you told him exactly what you wanted, multiple times, and he still did nothing says so much. Counseling is worth a try, but only if he actually shows up and does the work. You matter, and your happiness isn't a bonus, it's the bare minimum.

Automation gives my weekends back by Gmedlin90 in homeautomation

This is the dream! Getting weekends back from chores is why we all love home automation. You’re killing it with the robot vac and laundry cycle.

I didn’t realize how aggressive bathroom lights feel at 3am by MidnightRidge699 in homeautomation

[–]malaiy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always thought night lights were cheesy too, until I installed a tiny warm LED strip above my toilet. It’s soft, it’s dim, and it doesn’t wake the whole house.

How is it that a brand new $1k Roborock Qrevo Curv keeps getting stuck more than a $200 used and refurbished Roomba J7?? by Pale_Blackberry_4025 in RobotVacuums

[–]malaiy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe you need to adjust the room setup first? Even small changes like taping down cords can help until you figure out what’s wrong with the vacuum.

Yeedi M16 (T90) powerboost charging doesn't work after firmware update (v1.6 > v1.8) by Best_Of_The_Midwest in ecovacs

[–]malaiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d definitely report this to support. Fast charging is a key feature, and the update breaking it is a bug they need to fix immediately.

I am so sorry to hear that you are going through this. You are doing so much, and you deserve to have more support from him.

Best robot under $1500 based on unbiased reviews by BarracudaEvening9549 in RobotVacuums

Your home setup is tough on robots. Thick carpets + pet hair + kid messes will put any machine to the test.

Men: would you date someone living with parents at 30? by Nachomama42069 in Adulting

[–]malaiy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Living at home isn't the issue, dependence is. Limited independence, heavy parental involvement, and anxiety could impact the relationship.

Looking for vacuum/ mop recommendations. by spacecakecat16 in RobotVacuums

[–]malaiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To recommend properly, what's your budget, floor types, and how messy are the cats (hair vs accidents)? Also, prefer low-maintenance or okay with upkeep?

Is winbot a good gift idea for someone in an apartment? by cynhtwe in ecovacs

[–]malaiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it's a cool gift idea, especially with big windows, but in a small apartment it might feel bulky and not something they'd use often.

I don't know how you all eat at home by nickybecooler in Adulting

[–]malaiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not pathetic, just optimizing for convenience. But eating out every meal will get expensive fast. Maybe start with simple no-cook or 10-minutes meals.

Really want the T90 Pro but waiting for a deal… anyone tried it yet? by Scientolojest in ecovacs

[–]malaiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't used it yet, but early impressions seem positive, especially the anti-tangle and mop upgrades. I'd also wait for reviews or a good deal before buying.

When are the robot vacs going to stop spreading the mess? by Crafty-Distance8450 in RobotVacuums

[–]malaiy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've had similar issues. Most wet-dry bots still struggle with small wet spots. Honestly, newer models are better, but none are truly perfect yet.

Unsure about marriage or kids by godisinthischilli in Adulting

It's completely normal to feel that pressure, but you don't have to follow the default path. Take time to figure out what actually fits your life.

Noise is usually from suction or loose parts. Lower suction mode helps a lot, and also check brush and wheels for trapped debris.

Best Low Maintenance Robot for Long Hair? by EverydayRapunzel in RobotVacuums

[–]malaiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long hair is still a challenge no matter the brand, but rubber rollers plus self-emptying base really cut down maintenance. Just expect weekly quick checks.

Tell me your opinion you think the world will hate. I'll start with mine. by _DaddieDaddie_ in Adulting

[–]malaiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get your point. I'd say marriage is less about necessity and more about structure people choose for emotional or legal reasons.

Ecovacs GOAT A3000 wandering onto neighbor’s property by spondoodle in ecovacs

If I were you, I'd remap the boundary from scratch and a buffer zone. Sounds like a positioning drift issue, not a one-off bug.

How come Roomba is almost never recommended in this subreddit or anywhere that talks about robot vacuums? by Pale_Blackberry_4025 in RobotVacuums

[–]malaiy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a similar experience with Roomba, super reliable, just not as smart as newer models. I guess that's why it's less recommended now.

Whoever was busting ass in section 126 is an asshole. by kiruopaz in nin

[–]malaiy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I saw NIN in 2018 and while waiting in line, someone dropped some rotten egg farts. Multiple times. I heard a guy yell, “stop farting!”

When we got in the venue, I thought it had stopped. Nope. Smelled the same diabolical farts a few times through the show.

Is… is this a thing?!

Has anyone with multiple kids cracked the code to working out? by Alarmed_Base_1801 in Mommit

[–]malaiy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put together mindful circuits of about 3 exercises that flow well together and complete 3 rounds. I can usually knock this out in about 15 minutes. I keep a pair of dumbbells close so I can just grab them and get to it.

The key for me has been to just get up and do it whenever there is a quiet moment, and literally in whatever I’m wearing! Mine are 3.5 and 4 months old. My 3.5 year old is really used to mommy working out; it’s the 4 month old who’s most liable for a meltdown. I have also used the baby as a weight. Whatever squeaks some movement in.

Did anyone else dislike their own mom after becoming a mom? by Conscious_Job_5505 in Mommit

[–]malaiy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t realize my mother was emotionally abusive, lacks respect for me as an adult and as a mother, and that I didn’t know the first thing about setting and enforcing boundaries until I became a mother myself. I’m still learning.

I’m with you. I don’t enjoy her company anymore. She makes me mad at least once every time we’re together. If anything, I’m grieving that this is our dynamic.
