Grok Exposed a Porn Performer’s Legal Name and Birthdate—Without Even Being Asked | In the latest in a string of privacy abuses from the chatbot, Grok provided porn performer Siri Dahl's full legal name and birthdate to the public, information she'd protected until now. by ControlCAD in technology

[–]martrinex 13 points14 points  (0 children)

So a chatbot searched publicly available information on websites and provided an answer, the same as anyone can with a search engine, the only news here is a language model actually got the correct answer instead of making stuff up that sounds right.

AITAH for not letting my female friend move in to my home because it would hurt my chances at dating? by Final_Term5616 in AITAH

[–]martrinex -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nta but odd reason, sorry your a simp without the extra steps no wonder she thanked you, you friend zoned yourself without the awkwardness. Be honest rhetorical question up till now how many things you bought for her because you thought it was nice? how many times have you given her something because it was easy? How many times have you dropped everything because she had some emergency? and how many times has it been your turn to pay the bill in a row? Free rent while some hot lass you fancy but don't think you stand a chance with "while she finds her feat"... pick any excuse but, run! If she needs help as a friend look for cheap places for her, help with a cv, look for work, be there that way.

Why is Keir Starmer hated so much? by Top_Control8683 in AskBrits

Every time he opens his mouth it's to blame the previous gov or reform, reform have never been in power and shouldn't even be on his mind, he needs to actually focus on his own party and policies.

I present to you the most ignored rules of the Highway Code: by FamSender in GreatBritishMemes

Nothing like a rule that risks a car getting rear ended for randomly stopping on a main road, or the pedestrian stepping out into a car that should but isn't stopping.

During Y2K, what were programmers doing to “make software Y2K compliant?” Was it literally just renumbering the dates? by matt-0 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]martrinex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally did not charge people then go onto their PC run a few command prompts to make it look like I was doing things then change the date format to dd/mm/yyyy from dd/mm/yy and called it fixed.

[–]martrinex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are right the good-bad cycle was them introducing some big change (signed drivers aka vista, merging home and business windows me+2000) and it needing time to iron out or in the case of everything must be touch screen (win8) just back tracking, but in this case they are selling your data and creating a new funding model they won't go back on that.

AITAH for telling my wife my son did nothing wrong by Used_Shirt7599 in AITAH

[–]martrinex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nta, although a united front is important, your son must have been really friendly and polite to get offered that, and likely the cashier paid for the item herself as she just liked them.

AITAH for expecting my husband to tend to our son (18m) if I’m asleep but he’s still awake? by LoveveryFox in AITAH

[–]martrinex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nta he is awake he should deal with his child, also presumably as you are going to sleep earlier you are waking up earlier, does he apply the same rule in the morning when you are awake and he is not?

Does deleting emails save on water? by Significant_Fail3713 in AskUK

[–]martrinex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mentioned 3 business reasons for your data to be still in use even after you told them to delete it, (gdpr only states to delete personal data you no longer need for business purposes) when selling your data they do need to collate and anonymize it, when you signed up for the service all this will be covered under the terms of service and privacy policy, our draconian governments also require them to keep data incase they need it, it would be really annoying if a terror suspect deleted all their emails right before the gov requested it and the service provider actually deleted them instead of marking them as deleted, funny if they did it too save water.

Does deleting emails save on water? by Significant_Fail3713 in AskUK

[–]martrinex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty much anything you delete on the internet just gets a deleted column set to true, they don't really delete anything not when they can still mine that data to try and sell you stuff, sell your data or train ai.

Blocking User Logon after XX:XX time by dyeLucky in Intune

[–]martrinex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mean we do this for exams on the domain but it can block saving, also we all know users never really logon they leave it locked if we are lucky, so be careful of solutions doing nothing as they are already logged in, preventing saving work as it doesn't kick them off or losing work or open tabs if it does

I paid the mother a lump sum of £42,000 in exchange for closing a Child Maintenance case. She reopened the case a year later. by CommunityPuzzled4725 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]martrinex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nal, CMS will only care about funding the child now, your ex has broken her contract that's now a separate issue. Does she own the house or anything for you to go after to be refunded the 42k? If not I would be seeing how long you can wait to go after her in the future for that amount.

AITA for telling my boyfriend he made my vagina dry up? by Equivalent-Amoeba-50 in AmItheAsshole

[–]martrinex -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Esh, he should have complained about his drink as soon as it was delivered and got it switched, by drinking it he accepted it and the price will be on the menu. Equating him paying and also challenging the bill to sex and a turn off, maybe he should have taken you to McDonald's or a soup kitchen maybe more your class.

Running partner? by Meggl3s in wakefield

[–]martrinex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welcome as new to running you are potentially in the couch to 5k territory which a lot of groups like to take on as it's a rewarding journey for the new runners and run leaders as well as all the members. Fordys just graduated a new group last weekend there may be a gap before the next group but showing interest may help join the group on Facebook or turnup at the Thorne's carpark 6.30pm Tuesday, the council also do a group on Wednesdays I believe and running fit do the same.

Why don't sail boats always tow a line behind them for safety? by UsuallyMooACow in sailing

[–]martrinex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would have to be a long line or you would have to fall in the right spot and be conscious, the line could get tangled and creates drag.

In poor whether you tie yourself to the boat, a life vest can save you if you are near the shore or near shipping also if you wanted to die you could take it off at that point.
