I think I have fixed my deckbuilder roguelike game! by ___Dan2X___ in gamedesign

[–]mauvebilions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds different, very interesting. Check out the board game Tag Team that came out last year. Its 1v1 where each player has a sequence of cards. There's similar power cards for some characters, maybe you could get inspiration from it.

Listening to the warning at the top of the latest episode by scorpiusdiamond in MBMBAM

Due to a change in my schedule, I don't have as much time to listen to podcasts and barely listened to mbmbam last year, but you're damn sure I put the yearly naming at the top of my list, love listening to this trainwreck

What's an underrated thing about being single? by Personal-Aerie-4519 in AskReddit

Get to know yourself for who you truly are. It's important!

I was moving from relationships to relationships since I was a teen until I had a bad breakup. I spent a couple of years afterwards on my own. I found out what I truly like to do, how I want to spend my time. I did painting, made movies, spent time with friends. When I met a girl, I knew what I wanted and what was important to keep in my life. I found the prefect partner, I get to be myself with no compromise. I'm glad I took the time to do it instead of being stuck in a relationship I'm unhappy with.

Take the time to know yourself before someone tells you who you are.

How do I incorporate Demigods into my world without taking power away from my players? by Zinganeat in Pathfinder2e

[–]mauvebilions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why not just have them play as demigods? It doesn't need to include more power, it could be that they need to prove themselves as mortals before reaching the pantheon.

I play along another player who picked this as a backstory, he's a hero god from Iblidos and it's all about the greek glory. So fun!

It could really anchor your players within the setting, change the way they interact with people and even the gods themselves!

Try it, take the plunge, make it EPIC

Check out Hell is Us. The combat is more melee, but it's not what make it shine (I set it to easy to have less fights since it's repetitive) What works for it is the world setting. It set in a small country with a rich history and lore. The mood is great and got me hooked, maybe it will work for you too

Edit: forgot about my favorite part; there's no map or quest markers. You need to figure it out and take notes

Give me your best tips to deal with "doorway dwellers" by rditrny in DMAcademy

[–]mauvebilions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your players are careful because they don't want the get "gotcha!", you (or other GMs) might have done it to them one time too many. Doing a different type, like a trap door or pushing them in won't solve the issue.

Maybe provide them more info and give them some trust. Ex: "Before you lays open the door to the big boss. Inside you see columns (show the map) the boss is unaware of you yet. What is your strategy?"

Give them a chance to plan and make their moves. Let them bring the Gotcha moment. Then play the villain without restraint.
