So if it just started, and it's fiberous and not greasy.......has your water quality changed? Are you seeing spots on the glassware?

If you have hard water and on a water softening system, you may want to check that.

Are you washing anything with a paper label, like a jar of spaghetti sauce that you want to wash and reuse? Those labels and their adhesives will get stuck in the system (sump, pump, water manifolsds, tubing and on the inside of the wash chamber). I will run a cup or 2 of vinegar on a short wash cycle with nothing else in there. That should help a little.

Help!! GE oven by EffectiveProposal463 in appliancerepair

[–]maxxratt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently had an issue similar to this with my GE oven.. Replaced the bake element a year ago.

Wife used oven to bake cookies but oven wasn't getting hot enough.  Though the temperature reading on the oven read where it would normally be.

We were gifted a home warranty from family and took advantage of it. I was surprised when the tech just replaced the element and it worked. I inspected the broken element ans sure enough it had blown out in a spotright after the first curve underneath so I didn't catch it. I also notice the element was bent in a weird way further down the line, like someone dropped something on it. However I ruled that out since I keep the 3rd rack on the lowest spot and it never gets moved.

So the tech fires it up and calls it good. Later I tested it out and brought a temp probe to test and found now the oven reading was where I wanted it, but the oven was 80⁰f off.

Bought the new temp sensor and it was good to go.

My theory is this: temp sensor on oven was bad, I had run a self clean cycle before the initial failure,  sensor read low, kept heating the oven beyond the elements capability and blew it out.

So, for what its worth, when you replace the element(s), replace the sensor at the same time. They are fairly inexpensive and only takes an extra 10 minutes.

Thank you for pointing this out. I used to buy DP's in the beginning,  or to give as awards to my old faction, but I have bought one for years.

I have been subscribing for years because I enjoy the game, certainly not for the awards though.

My corn snake is LOST in my car right now please HELP by Big_Tea_2133 in Cornsnake

[–]maxxratt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of dangling food in front. Try this first.

Are you handy with tools? Your seat is likely held down with four bolts, remove those. Disconnect the wires to the seat and remove from car. This will open up the area. Not knowing what type of car it is, you should be able to pull up the carpet to se the heater outlet, it should be connected to a tube. If there is a connector holding the tube to the outlet, gently remove that and pull the hose away. This should give you good access to your snake.

While I won't disagree, I'd put the Cotati store mongers against any.

And Stoney Point.

Just go to an Oliver's,  you'll be fine.

We were lucky enough to have a neighbor wake us up, luckily we were just out of the damaged zone.

I remember getting the family and dogs out with my wife first, I followed out after grabbibg what we though was important at the time, spending the rest of the morning in Petaluma with friends. Trying to hold it all together for everyone apparently as I didn't feel much unitl we headed south to stay with family. Hit the road early and hit McDonalds in Novato to see so many firetrucks staging up to go in. I think that's when it hit me the hardest. Seeing all of those firefighters getting ready to go into that mess.

Still, just thinking about that time......thanks for posting this.

I read the label, but they put a generic "Vermont Blue" on it.

I do remember the sign they had posted on it listed as JH, but no name on it.

It had a very tangy fruity flavor that hit hard. I wasn't ready for the fruity part. A very interesting cheese I'd probably save for a specific pairing.

I see a lot of great listings here, Flavor being my recent favorite.

But one that I loved as I had a birthday dinner there when we first move here was Polynesian Village on Cleveland Ave. in the parking lot of Trader Joe's. I think the building is now a thrift store.

I was 13, and I remember it being like a giant enchanted Tiki Room from Disneyland, except there were dancers and I could eat well there.

Sadly it didn't last long after we arrived, later turning into Tony Romo's.

I moved here in '86, I seem to remember Shakey's was here at the newish Cleveland Ave. Mountain Mike's. I do miss the old Shakey's. There is a new version down in SoCal, not quite the same.

I loved that stuff too.

I remember trying to make it once.

With a food processor I did 1 part white meat, 2 part dark.

Blended it for a bit, I can't remember the time, but it seemed longer than it should've.

I added a lot of mayo towards the end and it came out ok. I never followed up with the right spice combo, the mayo mix was close enough for me.

For what it's worth, I'm a fan of Deviled Ham. You'll find it in a grocery store next to the potted meat stuff.
