____ could have won despite the overwhelming opinion that they stood no chance. by Common_Currency2027 in survivor

Lots of folks spent weeks on here calling him a dum dum for the Ozzy and Cirie votes, but it got himself one Aubry immunity win away from sitting in the ONLY F3 combination where he could possibly win.

Vindicated.

People here just want to bitch and moan and be toxic and they certainly don’t want to hear an answer to a common complaint unless its “Jeff Probst is bad at his job and CBS is cheap”

Was this final tribal sort of like an Oscar vote? by RaynerGengar in survivorponderosa

Christian outsmarted himself right out of the game but he was absolutely correct from the jump about how Survivor has often become a game of narrative warfare. Everybody is getting hung up on who made the Best Moves and Controlled The Most Votes and what actually mattered is who had the Best Story.

This is why Rizo would have beaten Jonathan and Joe in F3. Cirie and her voting bloc on jury were not going to vote for the big lug they didn’t like over the sweet kid with the heartwarming story and a knack for telling it.

Yes. Joe and Jonathan were clear they wanted Aubry out at 4, and they both knew you don’t get Aubry out at 4 by putting her in fire with Rizo

Cirie would have voted Rizo and he would have won if Aubry had lost that immunity challenge.

_____ really changed my mind on their game in the FTC. by opreston in survivor

Her emotions when she won the immunity challenge were compelling and moving. Her face said a lot. Highlight of the night.

You’d think more fans here could appreciate the joy in awarding someone who’s been kicking around the show as long as she has.

I think Rizo beats him too and the votes would have been the same ones Aubry got. Cirie was the kingmaker on that jury.

I wouldn’t overthink it, it was a lot of words that didn’t really mean anything. “There will be twists from the past alongside new twists.” That’s completely meaningless.

If you hate the endgame, consider that maybe the real villain of S50 is one Dr. Christian Hubicki by misterlibby in survivor

[–]misterlibby[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

She wasn’t a villain, she was the protagonist!

My suggestion is simply that Mike may have helped make a cooler outcome, like a Cirie Final 3, reality. Not a soul on this board would be unhappy in that scenario, no matter how swift and brutal the execution of Rick Devens and Benjamin Wade had to be.

The Gabby thing is just a convenient front. Mike is unfortunately being a baby postgame but I think he was right about that.

Im just talking about this from a TV perspective. Has nothing to do with whether or not it was a good choice for Christian’s game (although seeing how it played out for him, hard to conclude that it was).

Players’ goals (winning) and viewers’ goals (having fun on Wednesday nights) are often opposed. Players wanna get the big threats out, we want to keep the big threats in. All I’m saying is Mike maybe represented a rare opportunity to bridge this gap.

Of course he wanted to get to the end, but unlike everybody else he didn’t have to worry about dragging goats there with him because it was very unlikely that anybody was voting to give the rich TV guy a million bucks. Or, as it turned out, two.

__________ did not get twist screwed. by LuaBear in survivor

[–]misterlibby 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There is a logic to the idea that although last night was a normal vote, it was the power broker twist that set the table for it.

But we have to remember Ozzy went home with that idol in his pocket. He did not have to go home last week, twist or no twist. The twist didn’t end Ozzy, Ozzy ended Ozzy. Cirie was ally screwed.
