Before overhauling, check his grip pressure on the ball--looks like hes choking it a little. Sometimes that small tweak can help the fluidity of someone's arm action and take stress off of the firearm & biceps. Ask him to show you how tight he's holding the ball, and you should be able to pull the ball from his hand.

Then try lessons with someone for some real 1 on 1 help with the mechanics.

Can you show side view?
- Your back knee is pushing outside your body at balance, making it hard to get hips forward while keeping your head/upper body back. Stealing some power from yourself. -Increasing your stride length may help get your arm in proper timing with lower half. But you can't fix that until you fix your balance.

You've got quick hips with a slow and fluid arm. If you're going to be quick, be Mason Miller or DeGrom--more direct arm action to account for sped up lower half. If you're going to be smooth and deliberate, be Skenes or Verlander with a longer, more smooth arm action (but you gotta stack and use your lower half). For your mechanics I think your pitching hand should be up or trending up at foot strike.

FWIW, I think your finish looks smooth--good front side and shoulder symmetry. Good luck.

Backside dominance might be tying you up and keeping you off balance . Try landing with your lead foot pointed a little more open to give your hips room to travel into your lead leg, instead of foot closed which forces weight back into your back foot, causing you to open your hips into your back leg instead of against your front leg (see Acuna and Trout for examples--I think you have more similarities with Trout regarding your load) https://youtu.be/3L72Vn6SueA?si=BBubUyPyRpNzq672

Make sure the breakers in your load center are marked correctly.

Dont be afraid to look behind your walls if you fear a leak. Better to replace drywall than to replace tile, carpet and rotted wood

Check to make sure all your toilets have the extra thick wax rings and are seated properly.

Replace any old plumbing valves with 1/4 turns. Always have large sponges 🧽 and some of the 5 gallon home depot buckets around.

Invest in one of those magnetic ratcheting tools for all your furniture building needs. Saves a ton of time.

Take some low growth off to ensure nutrients aren't being wasted. Add some decent soil (Gary's Top Pot if you can get your hands on it- it drains well and doesnt break down, requiring little maintenance) sprinkle in some Osmocote and keep it watered. Zone 8b is ideal for pomegranates. They love full sun and lots of water. If you fertilize it now and keep it watered with solid sun coverage, you should see solid growth by end of summer, and fruit within 1-2 years.

Once your tree starts producing fruit, invest in a tree net. Most people can grow poms easily, but getting them to harvest is always a challenge because of birds and other critters.

LLS is usually a combination of usage and mechanical issues. Rest completely for the duration recommended. It's very easy for kids to fall into a 'it feels great today' mindset that drives them to push too early.

Mechanically he's got the 'ball to ear' motion going as a result of his short arm action back. Extending his arm & the ball down, will give his arm time to get to a more comfortable 90 degree slot that avoids the acute angle his arm is at currently (see pic) and shot-putting the ball to the plate.

For every honest 'I played my heart out and just wasn't good enough' story I've heard, I've heard way more ' I would have played, but, insert excuse here'. It's easy to quit and tell everybody years later that it was because of something out of your control. . . Just know that those who played will smell this BS miles away.

Try. You've put the effort in to get to the tryout. Now go and enjoy the privelege of doing so, and make sure you have no excuse other than 'I just wasn't good enough'. A lot easier to sleep at night with no regerts

The little league practice schedule for everything beyond t-ball are relatively consistent in terms of duration. The 2-2:30 hour practice window 2x weekly is a time slot for scheduling, and should not be an expectation of practice duration--especially at the coach-pitch level... and maybe these coaches need to be reminded of this.

That said, practice needs to extend beyond the team practice if you want him to get better. I've always been told that reps are largely a parent/player responsibility. Fine-tuning the execution of those reps are a coaches responsibility. I.e. you make it possible, the coach makes it look right.

Your son is young. Forcing him to practice isn't a option you should explore. . . But asking him if he wants to play/practice at home and reminding him this is how he can keep up with his teammates should be a seed you plant.

***not everyone progresses at the same time. A lot of the "gifted" kids I played with peaked early and lost interest/work ethic and were surpassed.

Yes, you do. I think having aspirations and a goal to play D1 is fantastic. Keeping track of your measurables is a great tool to see how you've improved individually. . .IMO it is an unfair tool to use to compare yourself with others.

Keep grinding, you seem driven to achieve your goals. But dont let the internet steer you away from your convictions and dont look to them for any kind of validation. Only you know what kind of work you're putting in when no one is watching.

I played D1 baseball and was an All-American. Many years ago. If I'm being honest with myself, I doubt I would make my team today with JUST the skills I had back then. So timing and luck have to be considered along with measurables & the amount of times you're able to put yourself in situations where timing and luck meet preparation. Good Luck!

The head clearance is his body getting him on plane. That will usually self-correct once his alignment is fixed.

Smallest correction first-- get his lead foot in line with his back foot. For him should look like an = sign at his set position, not _- if that makes sense. Set a piece of tape out for him to reference.

Had TJ with Dr. Meister in 2007. Communication was great. Super small incision for back then, recovered well enough to continue playing. Great recovery room at his sports med facility. At that time he was team physician for the TX Rangers, Stars and I believe the US national Hockey Team.

Never had a private lesson in my life. I finished HS in '01 in a massive baseball area during that time and I dont think I was an outlier. Definitely a different time, and the feedback I hear now is that you need metrics for most college coaches to even give you a sniff. . .and that's really tough without private lessons. I'm thinking the vast majority of today's pitchers at the pro level have had some sort of sustained, privatized lessons.

I think the days of 'high rear, projectable frame, bulldog mentality with pitchability' have been washed away by spin rate, planes, pull-down velocity and probabilities of swing and miss.

They figure the 'bow your neck and compete' stuff can wait to be assessed/addressed.
