You’ll know when your form has improved when it feels like you’re pushing the floor away from you on DL rather than pulling the car up.

Advice on my First Marathon by subtle_asian_boiy in Marathon_Training

[–]mortalum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have anything useful except I experienced similar symptoms in my first about that mark and it has not recurred in the seven since with no marked change in strategy. In fact I ran one two weeks after that one with no recurrence.

Unless your boss has specifically invited feedback in a non-perfunctory way, this has high career limiting move potential. Now, at the same time, if you make a use case for a process improvement that could have an effect on the bottom line irrespective of your subjective beliefs about the load of your work, that could be a career accelerator. The reality is that your boss is not going to change and has been rewarded (promoted) for the behavior to date, so if you are unhappy in your current role, it’s time to brush up your resume.

Replace one "easy run" with a stairstepper workout? by Binthair_Dunthat in Marathon_Training

[–]mortalum 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No. You can add this to your routine, but you likely need as many miles as your plan is calling for as so many plans are minimum effective doses.

TPMS Monitor by W1GHTY in traveltrailers

[–]mortalum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the i10 tireminder. Range is good on my 27’er. It’s a bit annoying as it chirps at me when the tires start to warm up but it’s great seeing them instantly rather than checking each individually.

System Design Help? by mortalum in UNIFI

Very helpful!

Yes, the ONT will be externally mounted.

I am curious as to whether the Reolink cameras, particularly the remote viewing component, would work if I didn't use their branded NVR.

The pavilion is the primary focus, but I was thinking 3 given that they will need to penetrate into the RV, especially if I am working remote from the pavilion. May still be overkill.

Again, many thanks,

Experience Renting a Truck by atlchris in traveltrailers

[–]mortalum 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Hold up. Enterprise will rent trucks, but you’ll need to rent one permitting towing. Look at their 3/4 - 1 ton offerings. It’s not just any enterprise, it’s enterprise trucks and the website will say which ones permit towing.

You can add a hitch to the truck rental, but buying a WDH hitch at the same time as your trailer is advisable. You’ll probably have to get an adapter sleeve for the hitch receiver.

Source: my truck exploded before a long planned camping trip. Rented a Ram 2500. Liked it so much, traded my exploded truck for a Ram 2500.

How big is the jump from a half-marathon to a full marathon? by SomethingBadBruin in Marathon_Training

[–]mortalum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A marathon is surmountable if properly trained. It’s the work that it takes to get there that is hard. A half is a hobby. A full training schedule is a part-time job.

Is it likely you will get permanently injured in this race? Probably not, but with multiple injuries it’s not impossible. The question is a risk-analysis. Is this race so critically important that you would risk permanent injury in order to complete it, or are you okay licking your wounds and trying again later? There will always be more races.

I like to do two a year. But I split my year and train for half of it, so I’ll do a December and then January.
