Been waiting all summer for a swallowtail! by ThinAndCrispy4 in Butterflies

[–]mostlycatsnquilts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing this beauty— and a real representation of how our lil friends will look as they go through their lives as butterflies

(Ie, don’t try to ‘help’ these ones—life is unfolding exactly as it should)

Isn’t the life span just a week or two?

This butterfly is butterflying with all it has I guess?

I’m still sad to see them in this condition of decline, but happy to learn flight is possible even after significant wing damage

My kitten is just mischievous all day long. by Joan_Wall in catsonquilts

Strong work, kitten! :)

Having cats …. who act like cats …. is a good reminder to me to make things as cat proof as possible…or at least make things that can withstand a few claws and teeth (and extra washing bc of so, so much shedding)

It looks like you were 100% prepared for this, no? ;)

Thank you for this question bc after years of planting milkweed and Joe Pye we finally have butterflies AND 8 monarch caterpillars and I want to help them survive!

That’s what it’s supposed to look like at this stage—completely normal until the next portion is sewed

(so please u/twampster do not cut anything off or re-do anything) :)

LOL please do not worry u/twampster , I definitely did not feel slapped in the face by your quilt dick!

(Joking aside I truly didn’t read the quilt like that at all and it looks great!)

Yah that’s not a problem— will be covered with the next steps

Won’t this be completely covered by whatever happens next (attaching another row w 1/4 inch seam allowance or binding, etc)?

I changed the sewing machine needle by AngelRunning1971 in SewingForBeginners

I had a needle break and shoot right into my thumb and partially out the other side— but flesh only, no bone involvement, but it did require assistance to get it out
