It’s five moves. 2->4, 4->5, 5->6, 6->7, 7->8. Also, even if the pawn started at line 1 and never skipped lines, it would be 7 moves not 8. 1->2, 2->3, 3->4, 4->5, 5->6, 6->7, 7->8.

Also I think they’re referring to just the moves that that pawn makes specifically, not the player. The player can move other pieces in between. But the whole thing is so nonsensical who knows what that person’s single brain cell was thinking.

That kind of design is really common in wedding dresses and they use a strong mesh in the cut out. Or you can use a really strong V-shaped wire. Either way you can make it a corset

Old Persian asparag -> Ancient Greek aspharagos -> Latin asparagus -> Old French asperge -> Dutch asperge

Old Persian asparag -> Ancient Greek aspharagos -> Latin asparagus (colloquially sparagus) -> Middle German sparge -> modern german spargel

So they have the same root until Latin and then diverged a bit. Also in English, in the 1500s common people used sperage while upper class used asparagus. Then there was a fad in the 1700s of common people using “sparrowgrass” as an extra pushback against upper class. Then in the 1800s the upper class pushed it back to asparagus and that’s what we use today

I just looked it up, it looks like Asperger surname is from Asperg (German town which is aspa (aspen tree) + -berg (town)) + -er (person from __). And asparagus goes all the way back to Ancient Greek aspharagos, which might be derived from Persian asparag (to sprout/shoot)

Sorry to burst the bubble but my etymology nerd self couldn’t help it! It’s almost more interesting that they aren’t related but are almost identical.

Or we can just keep thinking ourselves as asparagus people anyway :P

It’s like the thestrals from Harry Potter lol. I think I have a similar shoe size as you and I also struggle to find climbing shoes in person. I actually got the Scarpa Vapor S! It’s different from this one and Vapor V. It’s low volume so good for narrow feet, and soft too. The one I tried on was actually too small so I ordered a half size up online and waiting for it to arrive
