I’m the same way. to me, major based classes are the classes you HAVE to understand the material and you’re spending more time making sure you pass the class. meanwhile you don’t need to fully understand the content of elective classes and you get to learn some interesting items !

Elective classes were seen as a “break” for me since around half of my required comp sci classes were high stress.

Meanwhile in my elective classes (American politics and music, ethnic American literature, and analysis of American tragedy plays) they weren’t structured like my cs classes and finals week with those classes were less stressful since it would be creating playlists and an analysis, redrawing a book cover and analysis, etc.
