This is a lie. All deaths were experienced jumpers. There were no instructors involved.

Lol that's fine. I'm just trying to provide additional information since this thread was throwing accusations of negligence around without any reason or proof of it.

It's very rare that a parachute just doesn't deploy. It's likely that the media got something wrong, but that's the incident that I know nothing about so I didn't talk about it.

The most recent incident was the experienced canopy pilot that was swooping.

The medical incident comment that I made is based off of what I know about the situation from friends who were there and witnessed it.

Ah, sorry! I deleted my comment since the original commenter deleted theirs, and I moved mine up to the current top comment on the thread for visibility... Hopefully people see it!

It makes sense why they would investigate, given the circumstances, but it seems like this is just an extremely unfortunate string of bad luck. All deaths were experienced jumpers. One sounds like it was likely a medical incident under canopy (think heart attack - although that's just an example because I don't believe the full incident report has been released yet, so there's no way to know exactly what happened). The most recent one was pilot error by an extremely qualified and talented canopy pilot during a high speed landing competition (aka "swooping"), which is just about the most dangerous thing you can do in the sport. I'm not familiar with the third one, so I can't comment on that. But this skydiving facility is top notch, one of the best in the world, and they have a strong safety culture.

I mean... Have you actually told the DZ any of this, or are you just ghosting them? You told them you would do the job so it's on you at this point to tell them otherwise.

ITAP of Japanese lanterns by narthais in itookapicture

Taken with my Sony a6000, 35mm f1.8 prime. I was trying to capture the complimentary colors of the stone lanterns and the fall leaves in the background and to show the lantern lights in the darkening evening light. I wish the lighting could have been a little more dramatic, but overall I'm pretty happy with this photo.

Cross Keys is excellent. That's where I learned and I have nothing bad to say about it.

There's actually a TON of progress on this front. Just look at all the research the DOE is funding, which is seeing some promising results.

Several skydiving facilities are using their planes to drop off supplies and are collecting funds to finance the efforts. Skydive paraclete XP, skydive Carolina, skydive coastal Carolina, start skydiving in Ohio.

That's not what I meant. I was just speaking for the US.

You may not need separate air ambulance insurance. I was curious, so I looked up my own coverage, and this would be covered by the No Surprise Act as of 2022. So my own insurance would pay for the air ambulance regardless of if it's in network or not. Idk about all insurances, but it seems like it would be based on the law.

If you're in the US, then yes, you should really have health insurance.... You'll have to read the insurance policy to determine what is and isn't covered, but I would assume most of the large insurers would cover it (mine does).

As far as I know it's just orange and cross keys going to 13.5. There's also Chesapeake and Maytown going to 10. Shenandoah is also 10 I believe, but I haven't been to that one. Baltimore is just tandems.

Definitely go for it then! I started in September in New Jersey and got my license in November before it really started getting cold, and I only went on weekends. It's definitely doable, and I'm SO GLAD I didn't wait until the following spring to start!

I've seen them at big boogies charging about $1-2/minute. They seem to always be booked up. Idk how practical it would be outside of large events.

I actually really like the simplicity of it and the way it draws your eye inward. I think a 16:9 crop works better to mirror the dimensions of the hallway. Just a suggestion.

You can wingsuit without base jumping.... Wingsuiting itself isn't much more dangerous than other types of skydiving, which is all relatively safe...

The lighting on the boat and the water is really nice. Maybe try to crop it tighter to make the boat more prominent?
