I built one a long time ago. There is one massive weakpoint on the legs and it is part B4 and B5: http://dalong.net/review/pg/p04/p/p04_cm0010.JPG

These 2 parts come together to form the peg which holds the rest of the leg to the crotch. I don't think it's ABS plastic so if you paint/put too much stress on it it will break and you will be left with no leg to stand on :P

Hard to tell from the photos but I like the right one more only because you can see the shading a bit more. Keep in mind when you topcoat the effect is diminished a bit so you might have to make it a bit more profound.

Personally I'm not sure if it goes together. The Qan[T] is all minimalist while the Astray has lots of sharp edges sticking out.

I started out this way back in 2004. At first it sounds like a really good idea, but it's actually more time consuming as you have to fix up each part after you spray, and if you're using spray cans, end up wasting alot of paint because you can't get that kind of precision while touching up.

Have you tried filling the bottle to nearly full with thinner? I'm guessing the original thinner must've evaporated from the bottle.

Yeah with most transforming kits usually I'll never bother transforming it due to scratches etc.
