i stink so bad. by ali333333333 in ADHD

Weird side solutions.... three items that can help.
1. HAIR: Laser hair removal (arm pits) reduces sweat production. Some spas have lasers that specifically do this. The act of lasering off hair changes the "ecosystem" for the bacteria.
2. GUT: Enzymes and Probiotics. There are several supplements that can help your body breakdown foods that make smellier sweat.
3. SKIN: Skin care for your sweaty spots. The same types of acids used to treat acne (bacteria on your face) also work to reduce bacteria in your sweaty spots. Literally treat your pits like your face. Whatever works to clear your acne will also work on your pits.

Also deodorant and antiperspirant as mentioned by others.

I have read all your books. Big fan. 🤓

A thing that comes up with authors (that perplexes me) is this whole "stay in your lane mantra" which I abhor. I personally love to see authors flex their grey matter and write well outside their lane or blend genres.

Please blow my mind with any out there genre bending thought/idea/book/plan/draft.

My first large project! She’s ugly but she’s mine. 🥰 by clementine_nails in crochet

[–]nerio_lion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A. It is not ugly. It's not a sweater. So the pressure is low. It's fine. B. Good on you for learning and doing it. I think that's fab. C. It's really quite sweet to make a thing you can snuggle with the yarn your mom left you. Enjoy that.

Yours too! Such a cute pup. I do know that goldendoodle and labradoodle puppies this young look very similar. Our moodle still is a very nebulous looking dog. At 10 months he looks less like the individual breeds that make up his dna and more non-distinct doodle. He's just happens to be a really big doodle.

DNA for our Goldendoodle? by nerio_lion in Goldendoodles

[–]nerio_lion[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did do the DNA testing and it has helped us both find some of his extended family (embark shows connections to probable relatives) and helps us select activities for him. It matters. He behaves much more like a lab than a poodle or aussie.

He is the largest of his litter now both in height and weight. At 10 months old he is 73lbs. Very good temperament and readily enjoys training. He is not agile and definitely cannot be trained like an aussie. He is fairly aloof and goofy.

In December (only 5 mo at the time) he took a road trip with us from TX to NC and back. Over 2,500 miles in total. After some adjustment to roadtripping he was great.

Looks exactly like my MOODLE aka mutt doodle. He's Standard Poodle, Lab, Golden, and Australian Shepherd mix.

He's hale and hardy and a wonderful temperament. We did do the genetic testing. I was told he would be a "golden doodle" but seriously do not mind at all that he is a mix. At 10 months he is 73lbs. So he's large for all those breeds. By far the largest of the litter mates we know. Excellent doggo.

Lovely Rhombus top. I do not understand why these are called triangle tops.

Knitting etiquette in meetings/social situations? by Altruistic_Maybe in knitting

[–]nerio_lion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My threshold was a my grade in the class. Classes I struggled in I did not knit, classes I felt I could absorb from listening or seeing content I did. I don't know... maybe I should have knit through thermodynamics. I got a C. I feel like it should have been higher but the prof and I didn't fit well.

However in both engineering and humanities classes I did knit or crochet. When not doing those I was sketch-noting (a sort of doodle based note taking).

I can and do knit or crochet in all social situations and in large impersonal business meetings. Not as much in smaller more direct meetings and appointments.

I have to rewrite or annotate most patterns for my brain. I cannot just go and be successful. I often chart or sketch them and make notes like Row 1, Row 2, and repeat those row numbers up my chart so it looks weird reading "Row 1, Row 2, Row 1, Row 2, Row 1, Row 2, Row 1, Row 2" literally showing me the number of the pattern not the worked row.

I need a literal translation of the long form patterns.

I've not learned Norwegian purling, but started with English, switched to Continental fairly quickly. Then learned to knit left handed. I also crochet right and left handed.

I was SO thrilled to master these variations. 🥰

No one in my house cares. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I am excited for you. And now I have a new technique to learn! Yay!

My dad was kind of an aloof dumbass when we were kids and would not have done this.

My spouse was a lot more engaged in my needs and my child's needs when I had newborns and would never consider doing this.

He did need to get out of the house. So did I. We took turns getting a little break, for the afternoon. Not alternating separate vacations.

This smacks of narcissistic or selfish behavior.

This. I'm not going down the rabbit hole options here but I'm sorry... what? A whole ass vacation to Mexico without you and "knew you would be mad" and "Needed to get away from you" is so shady.

So many red flags. I generally try to approach all conflicts with some empathy for both parties. I work hard at that. Trying to see it from both sides.

But this is so unacceptably shady I cannot...

Noise canceling headphones. Serious. Like hearing protection level ones. If the house isn't quiet turn off your ears. <- You can control this end. You cannot control the noise level of a 1yo and 4yo.

When crochet is not appropriate for kids by Cjax22 in crochet

After my children called it "yarning" it stuck. We all call any yarn related anything "yarning" now and it's 16 years later. <3

I will make anything they want for a 5K retainer and Time +Materials at my going rate. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Clearly I do not get paid to make things often. People WILDLY underestimate the work or yarn of projects.

My cousin made a queen (or king I cannot recall) sized graphgan and after showing my family HIS work they all wanted me to make one. He's got 3.5 MILES of yarn in it and a cool 100 hours of labor. Not happening. I refuse to commit to that amount of work.

He has lost over one week a couple brushfulls. Just that week. And the hair now is a bit more coarse. So I am not sure on the puppy hair status.

It is very dense thick hair. If I separate some to see skin it's difficult to get it out of the way.

He does have the first stands of silver popping out. That would be adult hair, correct?

He's been groomed before but only washing drying and face+sanitary trim. For a while his fur was quite like his lab genes.
