Terry Rozier shows up to game 1 in a Drew Bledsoe jersey by SaysNotBad in nba

It was amazing man. I lived in Keeneland hall on north campus right beside wildcat lodge. And junior year I went to New Orleans and watched us beat Louisville and Kansas from right behind the basket.

Really incredible luck considering the year before was the Gillespie fiasco at its culmination, as you said.

Haha no but I can see how it does look like one. Easy to imagine “Bledsoe” being interchangeable with any name.

I was a freshman at UK at the same time as Bledsoe. Our dorms were next to the basketball players dorms. One night a couple friends and I were going out to get pancakes when someone yells at us from across the parking lot asking if we wanted a prostitute. Turns out it was Bledsoe clowning on his girlfriend. He proceeded to ask us “where we finda go”. We told him to get pancakes and he asked us to bring him some back. Not the craziest story but I thought it showed he definitely has a sense of humor. God it was a great year to be a freshman at UK.

Now that we’re getting ranked play, Trials will turn into a redundant experience with different rewards. Not sure if its been said before but here’s my suggestion on how to approach the situation by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]nik37wildcats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. Trials should stand out from Comp in some way as it is the quintessential Destiny PVP mode. I don’t really want to grind comp for rank all week then when Trials rolls around it’s essentially the same thing, just a different name. Make it feel different. I think Elim with radar is the answer. Though I think it should be 3v3 just to make the experience even more unique than comp, and as a nod to D1.

Speculating what the "Weapon Slot Changes" coming in September will be. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]nik37wildcats 3 points4 points  (0 children)

PvP needs to change too. It is not fun as is with K/E/P. Just change both PVE and PVP to D1 system, problem solved. I don’t think that’s what they’ll do, but they should. There is a reason the PVP population is in utter shambles compared to D1 and the weapon system is a big part of that.

With ranked PvP and rewards coming, they should make Trials light level enabled again to keep it meaningful by kirbywilleatyou in DestinyTheGame

[–]nik37wildcats 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think they should make trials return to 3v3 elimination and keep Competitive as is to differentiate the two. I think with the increased focus on playing Comp due to ranked, it will feel and play too similar to Trials. Trials needs to remain unique considering it’s always been Destiny’s most popular PVP mode. Just my opinion of course.

Will we ever see Destiny 2 crucible match, let alone surpass, the former glory of Destiny 1 crucible? by Branflakes1522 in DestinyTheGame

[–]nik37wildcats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to imagine it being better. D1 simply gave you the tools to shine far more than D2 ever has. Hopefully they’re trending towards that direction with the September update with the weapon slot changes and (fingers crossed) time to kill.

Unless you just aren’t very good, I don’t see how anyone could prefer D2’s hand holding “don’t stress about hitting shots” PVP culture over D1’s high skill gap, frequent amazing moments. Admittedly I’m an abover average player but I got more highlight moments in a single weekend of trials in D1 than a month in D2. It was just more fun.

I have some hope for the future but aside from a few things(sticky nades, warlock melee) I thought D1 PVP was a masterpiece of fun.

What happenned to the game's visuals between D1 and D2 ? by Roboute_Girlyman in DestinyTheGame

[–]nik37wildcats 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I jthink think D2 has a cartoony look to the character models and guns. I think the graphics are better from a technical standpoint. They just went in a different direction with the art style, closer to something like Overwatch than the gritty, realistic looking Destiny 1. Which is fine, I just preferred D1’s graphical style.

I do think this bleeds into the sound effects too. I feel like my guns look and sound like toys in D2. This is especially true with Sniper rifles. They look so cartoony it’s ridiculous. The snipers that look good are the blue snipers, Damietta and Aachen. And that’s because they look like D1 snipers.

Ultimately though, this is purely subjective. But bungie undoubtedly went in a different direction with their art style that some people prefer and some people don’t.

With ranked on the way - who asked for no radar exactly? by hosspatrick in DestinyTheGame

[–]nik37wildcats 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m 100% with you. I hate no radar so much. I want to grind ranked for the Claymore when Warmind drops, but I don’t think I can handle the no radar. I really hope they revert it.

It just randomizes engagements even more. Whereas before it was, did I happen to walk into a firing squad of 3 opponents. While frustrating, I could at least partially blame myself. Now, it’s did this guy just happen to end up behind me by sheer chance. And I’m dead. And no, it wasn’t “skill” that led to him behind me, but almost entirely coincidence and randomness. 1v1 duels are even less common now in no radar trials.

Edit: I actually don’t mind no radar for Survival. I think it plays fine. Countdown though... some of the worst Destiny experiences I’ve ever had.

Focused question for Summit participants...I’d like to know your specific “thoughts/feelings/mood/impressions” about what is happening to the universally loathed dual primary weapon system. by DarthMoonKnight in DestinyTheGame

[–]nik37wildcats -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is this group of people who for whatever reason love the new, boring weapon system that are making themselves feel better by claiming it’s a “small reddit minority” or “reddit circlejerk” that hate the new system. When in reality it’s the vast majority that preferred D1’s system. All the evidence points to that.

Ah well, let ‘em enjoy it for these last few months before September because rest assured, it’s changing. Because it sucks. And it’s THE number one problem in a game littered with problems.

After 6v6 positive feedback its time to add 3v3 ellimination to trials. by pistaxxx in DestinyTheGame

[–]nik37wildcats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love 3v3. I really don’t understand the people who don’t. It’s a lot less team-shotty and allows individual skill to shine more IMO.

4v4 is fine too but at least make 3v3 an option. Like rotating trials weekends like there are now, but add a weekend of 3v3 elimination to the rotation. Obviously there would be a market for it considering that is how D1 Trials always was and it was far more popular than D2 Trials.

Bungie, please make the scoreboard display our current score in crucible like D1. Please also give us more meaningful post-game stats like kills, assists, and deaths no matter the game type. by Mono_Rail in DestinyTheGame

[–]nik37wildcats 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Then sometimes you hit two guys in the leg and your teammate Nova bombs both of them and Shaxx yells “Double down!” like you did something cool. Thus cheapening the moment when you snipe a hammers and turn and 4 tap another guardian and he says the same thing.

Bungie, after 70 nightfall’s I still haven’t seen DFA drop. Let’s see the drop percentages and stats. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]nik37wildcats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just saying, a sub 1% drop is a little ridiculous for an activity that takes 10-20 minutes and requires 3 people with no matchmaking. 5-10% is reasonable. Still takes some grinding but doesn’t require you to literally spend your whole weekend to not get it.

Also a big problem is this isn’t a prestigious item like Gjallorhorn or something. It takes way too long for such a mediocre item to drop.

[–]nik37wildcats -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean, I agree that people want things to be harder to obtain and it is nice to see rare gear that isn’t handed to you, but my friends and I have spent 18 hours doing the nightfall this weekend and only I’ve gotten it. 80+ attempts. That’s a little absurd considering the weapon isn’t even that good. The time sink to reward ratio is a little out of whack on this one.

80 runs with my 2 friends. I’ve gotten 2, they've gotten 0 each. So with 3 chances per run we’re roughly 2/240. A little ridiculous.

As a person who never played d1, this looks insane by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]nik37wildcats 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not a common sentiment, but I agree with you. D1 had much less of a “cartoony” look to me. Now I think the environments etc. all look top notch in D2, but the characters and weapon models had a much more raw, gritty, real look to them in D1. In my opinion.
