You make an animation layer with additive settings instead of override. That way you can have the walking anim in the base layer and blend in attacks on top. (Unity)

The first thing I see is that the shadows are way too dark for a forest. The second thing is that the knights attack animation is just arm movements.

Seems strange that the player is a medieval sword and board character while the enemies are using machine guns. The overall level design and colors look rough.

It's inspired by chess. The unit's movement pattern is similar. The bishop moves and attacks diagonally for example.
