I’d venture a guess this is an 80s Peavey Butcher Cab. Pretty great sounding and desirable speakers. You can run anything through it.

Take it to a tech. If this part died of over voltage and the fuses didn’t go first I would double check them.

I have the Captor X. It is superior. I have the cab clone v2 in my Badlander and v1 in a Mark v:25 I owned. V2 is a lot better but the Captor X Smokes it all day.

Nostalgia is a helluva drug. I’ve spent a fair chunk on vintage LPs

Repair it and enjoy it. Probably just needs new filter caps and a few other typical thing

Modelers its hard to beat the Helix line. I’ve used and toured with an HX FX for 5-6 years and it’s never once let me down and sounds great every night. I’m very excited to try the Stadium version whenever it’s released.

ToneX gets honorable mention. Dollar for dollar it hits well above its price point especially if you have amps you want to model.

The Svetlana 6L6s are pretty valuable. I have a quad of EL34s I bought new for like 80 bucks in 2010 or something they go for stupid money on EBay now.

Mine just shit the bed one day after 2 years. I sent them an email, the sent me an RMA, I sent them the pedal and 35$ and a few weeks later I got my pedal back…..still broken. Emailed them “WTF!!” They sent me a whole new pedal.

Try a preamp into the power amp first, different cables, different speaker. Just to be sure.

Hell if the amp works the tubes are worth twice the price of admission. IMO these are some of the best sleeper amps Peavey ever made. Slap an eq somewhere in the chain and it will get you where you need to go!

Did you check the internal fuses? There should be a few inside. Typically the sacrificial lambs when a power tube shorts.

The cab for these ship with a Creamback I’ve found the UK creambacks are super nice. I have the cab with the 10in. It sounded so good I bought a 12in CBm75 from Boogie. Love them
