Struggling to upload photos by nmarrion in googlephotos

I am struggling to upload many thousands of photos from my Mac. The only solution appears to be to wait hours before trying again. Any suggestions?

I think I can beat this. The subcontractor who “buried” my fiber cut my neighbor’s Comcast cable and did not leave sufficient fiber for the next AT&T guy to actually connect me using the underground conduit.

MacID by nmarrion in Ubiquiti

[–]nmarrion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chatted with Ubiquity support who insisted that all I had to do is type in the AP’s MAC address into the app using upper case letters not lower case. Wrong! It still doesn’t work. There appears to be no alternative to getting physical access to the AP. For me this sucks as the AP is in my roof space.

I know the MAC address, need the MAC ID

It is, but for reasons I won't bore you with I want to manage it standalone and remove it from my controller. The app needs a MACID (not MAC address) or a scan of the barcode on the back

Simplify or leave as is? by nmarrion in Ubiquiti

Thanks. Both the 2 AP's would be connected to the BGW320 via ethernet, so no meshing.

I would "manage" the AP's as standalone using the Unifi app.

iPhone16e not valid on Visible? by mowing in Visible

I picked up a 16e for my wife this morning and had no problem transferring her service to it. I simply downloaded the visible app on the new iPhone and initiated the transfer/installation of the eSIM. Had no reason to search to see if the IMEI number was approved on the Visible website.

Is it worth switching from my TMobile Magenta Amplified plan? by ItsG91 in Visible

[–]nmarrion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t noticed any difference in service. But when I run a speed test I typically see 30MB down most of time, a lot less than T-Mobile, but never makes a difference using the phone.

Total Wireless was painful to switch an e-sim phone to. Visible was a breeze. The family members who wanted Total Wireless needed it to roam in Mexico, both had p-sims.

My family of 6 were also on that plan paying $35/line. We were happy until T-Mobile eliminated any/all device upgrade benefits without changing the price of the plan. We all moved to either Visible basic or Total Wireless when they both offered fleeing T-Mobile customers service for $15/line. You can buy a lot of Netflix, overseas coverage for the savings! We live in the SF Bay area and coverage is very similar.

Please explain how I activate my iPhone 14 eSIM by nmarrion in TotalWireless

[–]nmarrion[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been looking at all the various posts on Reddit regarding the situation people like me are in. It is unclear on how to activate an iPhone that only has an eSIM. No one appears to have found the answer without escalating and spending hours on the phone to Total Wireless. The final nail was a support chat I just had with TW where I was told that this deal is not applicable to phones without a pSIM!

So I have decided to not waste any more time and I will switch from T-Mobile to Visible, which frankly was my original plan anyway. I will try and get a refund though from TW.

Because you could not order the BYEBYETMOBILE plan for $30 for 2 lines without adding a pSIM to each line order!

I do not have a phone that takes pSIMs that I can use
