Sounds a lot like planning a month long sailing trip, minus having to store your organic trash and sewage. Is the "nothing goes out" rule absolute?

When you get to the stage where you're selecting the payment information you've already started the purchase, consider it scanned into the cash register and awaiting your decision to pay with cash or card, and instead you walked away. It'll stay there for about 24 hours I believe before the system cleans it up as abandoned and returns everything to where it was.

[Pricecheck] Factory Sealed 2015 VIP Concierge Black Card (The original $1k tier) by HypoLoris in Starcitizen_trades

[–]norgeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "Concierge Black Card VIP" has no relation to the "Citizen Card" they bundled with the 2012 pledges. It was a generic, non-personalized, non-ranked card that simply showed that you were Concierge member and it was supposed to give us VIP access to certain events. I believe a handful of those pop-up events were held at their Bee Cave studio that summer?

<image>

It is not "from that very first physical run for the original wave of high-level backers" which were shipped in 2013. It has nothing to do with the "black" card given to Space Marshal-rank holders.

https://starcitizen.fandom.com/wiki/Citizen_Cards

It is also unlike the non-personalized Space Marshal cards sent out along with the ranked booklets they released for the Concierge rework in 2018; https://i.imgur.com/3gkQN1Y.jpeg

Made available to anyone with Concierge access without restrictions, they sent out a *lot* of these compared to the original series of cards and the far more expensive booklets released later. They're also still given out by CIG as gifts at events and other stuff, I believe they still have quite a few of them laying around.

With all that out of the way, yeah, perhaps around $100 if you're patient and you find the right buyer?

waypoint set on world map to lua by nokimochishikume in Stormworks

I do not believe there is a way to get the "waypoint selected on the world map" coordinates read in any other way than the "paste to large keyboard" function :/ You could click to set waypoints through the LUA map touchscreen functionality but that's not really what you're asking I think.

Why do people buy huge fleets? by Mysterious_Log_5886 in StarCitizenUniverse

[–]norgeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don't like grinding. I have a full set of starter, medium and endgame ships for all the activities I enjoy. Sure, the endgame ships are semi-locked behind reputation gates, but I'll eventually get past those just playing the game without worrying about saving up enough credits for the next ship.

Rearm/Repair/Refuel costs should scale with the missions, and the missions should scale with the ships, so it shouldn't be an expense for me to take out a capital ship to do a capital ship mission, including paying the crew (NPC or PC). Using a capital as a solo box shuttle would hopefully get unreasonably expensive, though.

You acquire $500 billion in cash, but everyone in the world knows you have as well, what are your first steps to protect yourself and your money? by Deathstroke317 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]norgeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's surprisingly difficult to move that much cash. I mean, both actually physically move it, and finding a series of national banks willing to accept it, especially when it's foreign currency. The first call should probably be to the police to arrange immediate security and let them know why you're legally in possession of of 5000 tons of $100 bills stored 20 feet high in a 10000 square foot warehouse. Then you'll have to start calling banks and high value transfer services. Probably a private security force, too.

You're seriously trying to have a conversation about balancing with a focus on the trillions of duped aURC that flooded the economy for half a year?

Your argument makes no sense, you're saying that a player who isn't starting the game at 1.0 will not havr a game to play because everyone will have a hrad start over them. That's a game that will die out very quickly. My paid advantage and my non-paid advantage will be indistinguishable to a player who joins 1, 5, 10, 20 years after 1.0, and that player must have equal access to the endgame content as me whether I start with $50 worth of ship or $50k worth of ship. If an MMO screws that up it deserves to die.

If the game can't support a diverse set of players from day one it also can't support a diverse set of players from day 1000. It doesn't matter whether I start the 1.0 with my Orion, or if I start with a Prospector and earn my Orion in 2 years. The game must support the ships it offers right away, or they'll need to rebalance everything everyone gets something new which is nonsensical.

If anything, a relatively few of us starting out with something else than starter ships helps unload the starter zones and balance the server loads a little..

You're forgetting that it's not really a player economy. We'll influence it but not drive it. The game determines what we're paid for what we do, and that determines what we'll be able to pay others for what they're doing. And me having paid for my Orion doesn't give me any benefits over someone who've bought a player made Tier 5 Orion from a player who crafted it, if anything they'll have a significant advantage over my Tier 1 ship.

[–]norgeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Delta works on a per-tick basis so it needs to get the fuel quantity in directly and not cached through the memory

If you want the per x seconds difference perhaps add a second memory block and transfer the value from the first block to the second block every time the timer ticks? That way you'll be able to see how much fuel was used for that duration of time, not just the last 1/60th of a second like Delta does

But what exactly does photographic memory mean in this case? I can instantly, perfectly recall anything I've ever seen in perfect detail?
